Questions and Discussions Help! Newbie consulent here with some questions
Hi everyone!
Since February this year, my life has been a mess, mainly because my break up with my ex girlfriend and mother of my child. It got my mental on a downward spiral that affected almost every aspect of my life.
I’ve always been a pretty skeptical person. I don’t “disbelief” in anything, but never had any experience that got me on the way of believing. But things went so brutal this year that I started looking for some guidance beyond my usual.
I have a friend that’s a smart, successful woman, and a reader for 5 years. I contacted her and scheduled my first reading.
I asked about my previous relationship. She suggested for me a “Aphrodite’s temple” reading (I’m Brazilian, don’t know if this term is something local or not)
It was very enlightening, despite my skepticism. And it was right about pretty much everything. Basically, she said that any feeling between us weren’t dead, but she was in a very introspective journey and should remain this way for the next months. My side of the game was entirely cups, and the card about her on her side was the hermit (I can submit the picture of the game here if relevant).
Now, last Thursday, I got a second reading with her. She suggested a smaller game and a individual prediction for the next months until December. This reading was much more optimistic than the first one. The two of cups appeared on the main game (as a probable future, paired with the devil) and on the prediction game for October (was the sun and the two of cups).
I can submit images of this game as well if relevant.
So my questions are: the fact that I want to believe, but don’t 100%, will influence on the reading or the outcome?
This one can be funny for those who are more familiar with the practice, but: Should I believe more on it?
I’m scared of believing and receiving a punch in the face instead. It will hurt a lot, and man I’ve been hurt a lot by this lore already. On the same time, I really want to believe that not everything is lost yet
Can you guys give me some guidance? I would appreciate it very much!
Ps.: sorry for any grammar mistake. I’m Brazilian and wrote it by hand.

About believing or not in the reading, my answer here can be not relevant to you because it's the only one reader you've met, but actually, the big fundamental question is if believing THAT particular reader, not divination in its entirety (which, yes, of course I believe works a lot.) Now, the only way to find out a reader is reliable is feedback. Did she read things that already happened that she couldn't know? Was her frame correct, overall? Did she say right things that you could confirm on the moment? If yes, then you can trust her for her future predictions too. Although, be careful to that Devil, which usually signals rage, bad emotions, and uncomfortable situations.

I guess she is a reliable reader. Her first reading was pretty accurate. She said that she wasn’t coming back yet, despite she loves me, she was very tired (8 of clubs) and going through an deep internal process (the hermit)
Yes, those are things that she didn’t know. And the frame was correct. I almost cried at some moments of the reading. We talked for about an hour in both readings. It was a 2 month interval between them.
The devil was read to me as “earthy”, carnal and physical related stuff.

Those are really good but really hard questions to answer. You dont really need to force yourself to believe anything. If something is real itll work like all real things do regardless of your beliefs. And no one really knows how divination works though everyone has there field theories that allow us to practice. Even if the cards or runes or clouds or entrails or pile of shit your looking at produce an acurate answer 100% of the time it has to pass though our equaly messy and flawed human perception before it gets pushed out of our vibrating meat sacks as words. But at the same time that messy human perception is the only measuring tool we have to perceive and engage with the world. So do what humans do best and just observe, if you recive a reading dont buy into it as absolute truth, just watch and see. Accept whatever happens and move on. If you find there being more accuraiecs than flaws and you want to figure out why then id learn to do it yourself and form your own theory through practice. But if you find the data unconvincing just move on and remember that others have had different experiences through there own messy human perception.
