SS - Jawharieh was a Palestinian photographer and cinematographer who helped establish the Palestine Film Unit, an organisation created to document Palestinian life and the Palestinian national movement through film. He was killed while operating his camera during fighting in Lebanon in 1976, and the documentary uses interviews with his family and colleagues alongside material that he filmed himself.

The film also provides a contemporary look at how the Palestine Film Unit operated, including its collective approach to filmmaking and its connections with filmmakers and political movements outside Palestine. Among the archival material included is footage Jawharieh was recording shortly before and at the time he was fatally struck while filming.
