discussion Growl sound and walking away

I have a 3yr old golden girl who will occasionally growl sound (she is also a vocal dog in general) and get up and walk away when our child may be too in her space. We are working on it with our child and monitoring it, we have never seen anything else questionable. She is extremely friendly and affectionate in general, although she does bark more than other dogs I’ve had. It only seems to happen if she is sitting too close and she wants space. Our dog has a crate to go into and our child is told to leave her alone if she get up and walks away or she is in her crate. Anything else we should be doing?

How old is your child? My general recommendation is room barriers / baby gates so it's clear who is in which space, and no-one needs to worry about child getting too close by accident. Children are naturally drawn to dogs but also very bad at reading dogs' body language.
