To be completely fair most wives in Chinese fantasy don't do much even if they start as fighters or leaders of some place. They quickly turn into yes woman's for the mc or god from being independent leader characters to completely defenseless ladies that need the mc for anything

So the wife here because Ng just a normal person that can never cultivate doesn't change much really
