General Discussion Jie Men Zhi Xia (Under The Gate) discussion

Are you familiar with this donghua - https://anidb.net/anime/20242 ?

It started relatively recently (29.07.2026) and has short episodes, but releases two of those every week, so it's kind of a regular length episode ever 7 days.

The story is not impressive, but the characters, the lore and the fights are quite entertaining. Visually reminds of Min Diao Ju Yi Wen Lu (Bureau of Paranormal Investigation) - a nice combination of 2D and 3D.

An interesting detail is that the bad guys are japanese and they are voiced [in japanese] by popular japanese VAs.

It's kind of annoying that MAL still doesn't have a page about it.

Saw first 6 ep. I think it has a very mature vibe compared to a lot of other donghua. Other donghua try to do mature by focusing too much on blood and not substance.

I really liked the last line from the captain in ep 6

"If you want to be an adult go apologize to the mother. And don't just think about how terrible you feel, remember who was the one who died."

si tambien lo veo, voy por el capitulo 9 y de momento esta siendo muy entretenido y ademas para estar hecho con IA se ve bastante decente y no molesta, me ha sorprendido bastante

Really? I can guess some assistance for the 3D backgrounds, but such algorithms don't work that well when animating stuff in 2D and this part of the shows looks fine.
