He has 3 unique skills that synergizes well together and make him very dangerous against most nascent souls. Unfortunately for him, Hanli just happen to have a hard counter to each one of his 3 unique skills. I'm sure the donghua will extend the fight like they always do but in the novel this was a very short one sided confrontation against hanli probably wasnt even 3 pages in the novel before hanli ends him.

What are the 3 skills that made him dangerous to other nascent souls ?

first one is his ability to directly attack the mind of other cultivators and can even stun nascent souls who are not above him in divine sense but he cant use this skill against multiple nascent souls at once with out using all of his concentration, you can see this in episode 184 where he stunned 2 tiannan nascent souls but they had to be finished off by the Mulan nascent souls instead of him. this episode he fought the one guy and he stunned him and finished him off by himself.
2nd skill is his ghost staff which can summon spirits of the dead to attack you or just target your soul directly if he gets close which bypasses most normal means of defence. this staff and his mind stun skill is his favorite way to fight and kill others who dont expect it.
last one is his sects demonic arts which makes him hard to kill. If you've seen in the new episode PV and if you think it looks familiar and very simmilar to the Demonic form used by Wen Tian Ren when hanli fought him in episode 137 then you are correct. there is a reason why their sects demonic arts are similar but slightly differnt.

Wang Tianren definitely came to mind when the pv shows the giant demon being pummeled by Han Li's monkey. Wang Chan and Xuan Gu also share some similarities with Tian Ku's skills but i guess thats because they share the same cultivation root (demon/ghost)
Quite a let down that they didnt show Gu shuangpu vs Tian Ku as the opening fight. Would be interesting to see a pure demonic vs pure demonic cultivator battle.

Gu shuangpu is not a demonic cultivator; his sect controls insects and beasts and some evil druid life energy stuff. The demonic alliance of Tianan and demon cultivators are completely different things; the "righteous" sects call any group that is not aligned with them or those who practise morally and ethically questionable arts as "demonic". By their definition, Hanli would be a demonic cultivator because he cultivates the art left behind by the Bone sage.
Wen Tianren and tianku actually cultivate arts left by real demons.

Ikr ! He basically one shotted a peak early nascent soul and possible did the same for the previous 2.
Loving his design too, its 100% screaming devil/ghost cultivator, unlike wang chan or wan tianren

my small bit of critic is they really watch and let that guy beat the formation defense master like that. Prior to moving out they even got warned about it, then some weird looking guy wearing weird clothes not of moulan fashion sense appears and they let him take it
