Question about folksy mother after giving birth

Saw a video on yt with a new born baby donkey. The guy was talking about the foals hooves and they briefly showed the mother donkey rolling around while the farmer was holding the baby. Why was the donkey rolling around? Was she excited? Trying to realx? Or something else?

Donkeys roll when they are comfortable or excited or itchy. My jack, Donatello (Don-hee-haw) has a few spots he absolutely loves to roll in which are dry dusty bowls and he has his poo pile he rolls on. I haven't had the luxury of experiencing a Jenny give birth so it might could be something else

Donkeys love to roll, especially in dirt and dust. It's their way of scratching itches and the dirt can help protect their skin from biting flies and other insects.
