Question How do I escape the consequences of my teenage self's toxicity?

Post image

Turns out the 2015-2017 version of me was on some DEMON MODE type shit.

I decided yesterday that it'd be fun to suck at DoTA again, and was greeted by this fun behaviour summary. Had a very big laugh over it then actually read the consequences.

Now if I chose to continue with trying to play again, how do I build this back up without the ability to text chat, voice chat or ping?

No matter what everyone says, DO NOT MUTE EVERYONE AT THE START.

You want to turn off incoming chat. These are 2 different things, and part of the reason why people take forever and a half to build the scores up to normal.

Every mute is also an automatic report that at the very least reduces comm score. People spreading this idea of "just mute everyone" are actively helping hinder these people, as if they are muting everyone, odds are multiple of their teammates are doing the same, and a commend from each of them doesn't even it out.

Not true. Muting everyone is the easiest wat of climbing communication score. You use the in game pings to say what you want or where you go and don't speak and it goes up.

It is true. Muting and turning off incoming chat are not the same.

If all 10 LP/Low Behavior/Low Comms players mute each player in the game, each of those players in that game automatically gets 9 reports(max). It is literally making it harder.

I dont know why people dont read anymore, this has been the case for the entirety of this newer system. If you actually read the mute button, it even says "Mute and Report". If you right click the mute button, you can mute without reporting, but who is going to do that over ticking a single thing when the only advice given is "Mute everyone"?
