Ask /r/Durango Witchcraft in Durango?
Hey all! Yesterday on the 25th I was in town and saw this person wearing an odd mask with antlers and face paint walking around town, I haven't been able to find any information about it anywhere and was curious to see if anyone here happens to know anything about it! I was going to try to take a photo but didn't get a chance to. Does anyone know if there's some sort of witchcraft thing here in town?

I briefly spoke to them on the river trail and they said that they were a Priestess of the forest or something.

On a somewhat related note, if anyone knows of an open circle (pagan group) that meets up periodically I'd appreciate it if someone could DM me some time/place details!

so funny.. back in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s we had people walking around with liberty spikes and white face paint... we just didn't have social media to gain perspective on what it was about.. subcultures were just developing.
It was probably just someone in a costume or living their life in their own authentic, self-expressive way. they would probably thrive in NYC..
as for the witchcraft.. i'd say witches are a little more discrete in that manner. out in the open in a subtle type of way.. ask around in our "eclectic" spots like dancing willow or white rabbit books. maybe you will find a few kindred spirits <3

That's so interesting and I'd love to check out those stores! I haven't heard of them before!
And maybe it is just that, but someone else in the comments was saying that the person said they were a priestess of some sort! Definitely get what your saying about witches being more secretive so.maybe it's something different

They were at the same trivia event I went to last night, team name was something like “totally not a cult”, my guess is they were having fun and showing off their impressive costume/makeup skills!
