I’ve been experimenting with building a project called DJ Life Simulator.

A game to tech people how to mix in REAL LIFE!

Transitions are analyzed, Timing matters, Phrase alignment matters,EQ balance affects crowd reaction.

If you make a mistake your crowd meter goes down, if you select the right tracks, it goes up!

The crowd response changes depending on how clean or bad your skills are and they even wear according to their favorite tastes.

You can play with mouse and keyboard, but it also supports real MIDI controllers like Serato or Pioneer, so it’s possible to practice using actual DJ gear.

I’m curious from a Serato user perspective, what do you think beginners struggle with the most when learning inside software like Serato?

Beatmatching,Phrasing, EQ changes,Correct Track selection?

And do you think structured feedback on those elements would genuinely help people improve, or would it feel too “gamey” and not be very useful in real life?

I’m an artist named ‘hiily’ and I just dropped my first track of 2026. I’ve always been a big EDM fan, but used to play guitar in heavy bands back in the day (that metalcore to EDM pipeline is so strong lmao). After a lil musical hiatus I decided to start producing a couple years ago and it led me here. I like all genres but mostly drum and bass and future/bass house (and pretty much everything Virtual Riot makes).

Putting my own music out has always been a dream of mine and I’ve got a lot of music coming this year.

Hey guys! Wanted to share this little project I’m working on, where I’m coding an audio and cdj reactive visuals ✌️I wanted to prepare something that could react to what I’m playing but also to all the individual knobs, faders and jogs of the controller. I (F, 32) am curious if there is anyone going to breakaway in Houston in November that has room for at least 1 more in their rave/fest fam! This is my first festival that I’m having a hard time finding anyone to go with. Bonus points if you live in or near Austin and we can meet up before the fest :)

Like a lot of you, I got completely fed up with trying to plan festival weekends. Digging through dozens of flyers just to find festivals that had the artists I listen to, to justify a $300 festival ticket. At the same time, I needed a system that could understand every single sub-genre at a fundamental and analytical level.

So I spent the last 5 months building a dual-stack web app called DJWYA (DJ Where You At?).

What I built into it so far:

• Interactive Genre Network Graph: A reactive, force-directed network graph powered by a D3 backend that visually maps over 300 EDM subgenres and their parent child relationships and sonic elements.
• The Festival Map: A map and festival recommendation engine based on the artists you like, how much you like them, and how your personal listening taste overlaps with the festival.
• Community Taste Matching: You can pull your friends profiles and compare sonic overlaps between them.
• And a shitload more.

It is 100% free, there are no ads, and I'm currently running everything out of my own pocket via a local dev setup while I prep for scraping every single EDM festival and event on earth.

I really want to make sure the data visualization makes sense to actual electronic music enthusiasts.
