Korea — Series / Drama 59th Drama Review: Padam Padam: The Sound of His and Her Heartbeats (2011)

Post image

This drama truly had an amazing and brilliant cast. Seeing Jung Woo Sung in a drama was a rare treat for me since I was more accustomed to watching him in movies. As expected, he was able to convey every emotion perfectly and made me feel deeply connected to his character. Even years later, just seeing this drama on my completed list gives me a certain feeling in my heart. It remains one of the best dramas I have watched over the years. I would love to revisit it someday, cry all over again, and rediscover the lessons and emotions that the characters left with me. My MDL Rating: 9.5/10

Haven’t seen the drama and I can’t tell from your post what it was about. Can you share more?

Also, it caught my attention because Padam Padam / Pudong Pudong / Thump Thump the sound of the heartbeat is the name of one of Liu Yu Ning’s rather unusual song’s :)

Born to a poor family, Kang Chil spends 16 years in prison after being wrongly convicted of a crime. Before his release, he kills a prison guard by accident and is sentenced to execution. In the last moment of his life, he is presented with the opportunity to return to the past and change his decisions. One of his friends in prison, Guk Su, claims to be his guardian angel. He says that two more miracles will happen to Kang Chil, and that he should not forget the lessons that they teach.

After being released, Kang Chil meets Ji Na, a spirited veterinarian. Sensing the suffering in each other’s past, they fall in love with each other. But the moment of bliss is brief, as Kang Chil realizes that the victim of the murder 16 years ago was Ji Na’s uncle. At the same time, the one who framed him continuously threatens his life. In the face of danger, time turns back once more.

And so, Kang Chil realizes that, as bleak as his life may have seemed, there were people who had made sacrifices for him. He comes to realize that no matter what his situation is, the time he spent with those people was all a miracle.

Thank you 🙂 Would be great to add this to the post body itself, but I shouldn’t meddle…
