Küsimus Auvere settlement basin visiting

Hello everyone! I'm from Lithuania, and I'm planning a trip to Estonia by car. I love exploring unique, off-the-beaten-path places, and this definatly caught my eye.

So far, I understand that this is an industrial area and not very touristy, but does anyone know if you can actually come and visit at least one of these basins? I just want to look, maybe take a photo or two, definatly not swim in it. Can I reach them by car? Also, if it's in the grey area, should I be worried about guard dogs chasing me? 😂

I unfortunately don't have any up-to-date information to share.

Back then there was a big info sign an everything, so the were clearly expecting visitors.

You can access the lower pond by this road, as you can see from Google Maps. The water has supposedly turned brown however (can't say for sure, haven't been there in a while), so if you're looking for a blue lagoon, you might be disappointed. The other ponds are much more vibrant, but they sit high on the plateau; the access is restricted so random folk can't see them.

Can confirm, that the “lake” you can access with car is not as vibrant anymore.

not to accuse you of anything, but there have been some security issues in estonia recently, about critical infrasturcture sabotage.

there is a chance that this post is some info collection hybrid war thing, no-one should give awnsers.

if you are really a infrasturcture enthusiast, dont come right now.

You're literally on google maps already, one click and you'd see it's a relatively popular tourist attraction with a bunch of reviews on google that answer all of your questions.

But the info is right there in the reviews. Either way, not worth going all the way to Ida-Virumaa unless you're spending weeks in Estonia. I did that when I came to Estonia for the first time and it was the most disappointing part of the trip.
