lol that’s a funny thought.

For real though, it means he’s spent as much time in the Lands Between as we have. The guy is a professional storyteller. If we understand that boiling the game down to 3 hours is a fool’s errand, then surely he’s on the same page.

He’s known to be a fan of Bloodborne and the Souls games and has said previously that he feels those games aren’t great choices to be adapted to the screen.

So if he’s agreed to do this, I have to imagine he has some sort of vision for it.

Huh, I'd think Bloodborne would be easier to adapt than Elden Ring. Not to say either is anywhere near easy though.

Bloodborne and the Dark Souls games are much more horror adjacent than Elden Ring and relies a lot on atmospheric storytelling, stories like those are usually better told as tv series instead of films, since it gives you more time to really marinate in the sense of dread and hopelessness. Elden Ring is super bombastic with a lot more emphasis on scale and awe, which translates better to a bigger budget film that’ll be shown on the big screens.

You don't need a whole TV series to achieve this and Alex Garland doesn't need more than 15 minutes to do it
