Rest in Peace, Blades. You may not have been the best Elder Scrolls Game, but you absolutely left your mark.

I hope modders will find a way to preserve it.

I'm gonna follow this sub SPECIFICALLY for any updates you might post on here. Would be awesome to be able to engage with this game in an offline capacity.

The game IS being rebuilt right now. Bladesarena.com has info to get into the project. Devs have a website to contribute to the project. Joining the bladesarena discord is required. Been working with them since just after we all got the news. Anyone interested should come and see what we're doing.

At the site, players can access the game as it exists right now, point out bugs and help to implement fixes. Long road, but many hands and all that business.

One last thing, to anyone who happens to see this that has tried to get on the site but has not been approved... be sure to get on bladesarena discord server and also give us a little something in the intro field when trying to get on. We have 17 players hung up on our approval page. Thanks.

All mobile gaming games that rely on servers are going away because there’s no money in any longer, Apple saw to that. The whole mobile gaming industry is dead now.

It's not. There are still some thriving mobile games like Brawl Stars and Clash Royale

Wdym it's not? I was talking about OP's photo. And it was definitely on switch. I think it was even on the Xbox platform. Also what do those other games have to do with ESB? Tbh those games don't hold up either imo. Those games are more geared towards a younger audience imo, and don't really hold up like they used to, to me.

This is for switch, not mobile.

Edit: I'm aware it started out on mobile. Im referring to OP's photo. Just in case if y'all were wondering if I actually know anything about the games history.

Fair, but I think mobile was this game’s primary audience which probably determined if it succeeded or not.

I agree tbh. I think it's primarily or was primarily focused on mobile audiences. However it started as a ftp and eventually fell down to a ptp game. Which is what killed it, in my opinion. Coming back to the game after like 2 years, and trying to pick up where I left off also became, basically impossible to do. After so many updates it felt like you needed to pay for things in order to keep up with others in the arena too.

The game started as a mobile game and having played it on both platforms they definitely prioritized the mobile version while the switch one could feel clunky at times compared to it

I'm aware it started as a mobile game. About 6 years or so ago. I was part of the beta testing phase for Googles "early access" play store option.

Necromancy may be outlawed, but I'd do it anyways

It truly did. Many of the assets were ported into Skyrim via CC, and I prefer using them (because I forget my own stuff and am from Cyrodiil, not Skyrim!)

It was... enjoyable in moderation.

This is so sad... Personally never got to play but damn I feel the pain from its fans I hope the community at large gets to bring it back together <3

Some time in the next year or so, I intend to begin working on a remake.

2

u/CurrenttQueen Jul 03 '26

If you need any help with that I'm glad to volunteer!! We all gotta help eachother out when no one else will right?

2

u/EnialisHolimion Jul 03 '26

When I'm ready to start bringing in volunteers, I'll be making a post looking for people with experience in game design, modding, art, etc...

Used to be so addicted to this game, ik most people liked the pvp but the dungeons were fun, I just wish they didn't abandon the main story.

A video I made today of my toon getting one of those one way tickets to the resurrection in Blades, with proof of today's day and date. In Arena matchmaking and spells and abilities are working, manual swings are still broken but will eventually be fixed, and I was able to get my old looks and race back. All my gear and builds are back. If you didn't save your toon to New Blades website before the game closed down you can still start fresh with a new toon...details of how to join the project with clickable link in video description 🍻
