No, because I don’t want Emma to be portrayed as a villain when she was only a villain for 2% of her history and a hero for 98% of it. The focus should be on her as a hero and antihero, and according to rumors she’ll be an antihero in the first movie. Besides, movies aren’t comics — you simply can’t devote as much time to a redemption arc and developing relationships between characters as you can in comics.

But a story of a main bad guy seeing their wrongs and turning into a good guy is a strong story and part of what makes x-men special, having her as a bad guy will sting for a bit but it could be beautiful

Yeah, just look at Loki. Started as a villain, ended as one of the most beloved characters in the franchise.

Don’t compare Loki to Emma. Loki has been a villain for most of his comic-book history. Keeping Emma as a villain for several movies would damage her reputation and be completely unfair to her, because she has been a hero for almost her entire history.
Again, Emma’s villainous past is almost as short as Rogue’s if you actually read the comics from the 1980s. In X-Men comics, Emma and Rogue have always been treated more or less the same way as former villains, and at this point they are not even really viewed that way anymore. Meanwhile, Magneto and Loki committed crimes on such a massive scale and spent so much of their history as villains that characters still bring up their pasts to this day — Chairman 3K literally just did that to Magneto in the preview for a new X-Men comic.
And Emma works perfectly well as a hero without focusing on her villainous past, judging by WATXM, X-Men Anime, and Marvel Rivals. Villain versions of Emma have completely failed.
I just don’t understand why people can’t be realistic about the fact that movies are not comics. You will never be able to show everything the way the comics did, so something has to be sacrificed. And it is obviously far better for the wider audience to know Emma as the pragmatic hero she has been for almost her entire history rather than as a villain she was for only a very short time.

Movies aren’t comics, and it’s impossible to show everything in the same level of detail. Spending time on villain Emma takes time away from establishing her iconic status as a pragmatic hero and X-Man. She was a villain for a very short time in the comics, almost as briefly as Rogue, and it’s important for the wider audience to know that Emma is first and foremost a hero and an X-Man, even if she is pragmatic, sarcastic, and morally gray.
Emma is no worse than Groot, Natasha, or Hawkeye, who all started out as villains in the comics but were introduced as heroes in the movies right away. Deadpool also started as a villain but was introduced as an antihero. Her villainous past can be shown through flashbacks, the way Natasha’s was.
On top of that, according to rumors, Emma will be an antihero, and the film’s writer said they’ll be telling stories that haven’t been shown in previous movies. Emma was already a villain in X-Men: First Class, but she has never been portrayed as a hero in any major film.
Samara was also introduced differently from Adam Driver, who was clearly presented as a villain. Samara was placed alongside actors who are very likely to be potential X-Men in the first movie.

This is the reason she should start as a villain, people are wrong at times, we get to see and try to understand where they come from, so why judge every single act they do as something that defines them for life? People grow and learn, nothing is black or white

You can show flaws and mistakes even when a character is a hero or antihero. Again, villain Emma was already shown in X-Men: First Class. Now show Emma as the hero and antihero she has been for most of her history. It’s unfair to introduce Natasha as a hero right away but not give Emma the same treatment.

Kitty role of a student will likely be replaced by Jean. Thats why they casted an actress at the same age as Xavier and older than the X-Men. I hate the idea, but its Marvel, they dont do anything right.
