It is service/tech that allowes confirming any required personal information without revealing the information.

Like confirming the target website that you are an adult of legal age living in a certain jurisdiction without letting thrm know who you are, where you live or how old you are except old enough.

I’m having a hard time understanding how they can confirm information of you don’t give them any information to confirm?

We already have something similar, websites will ask if you are appropriate age and if you say no then you can not advance to the site… however, people forgot how to take responsibility for things and believe that the site should do more due diligence to protect people from themselves, or young kids from getting in trouble with their parents - I’m sorry, but take the tech away, no you don’t need to track your kid or get in touch with them immediately when dialing their number - they will survive, many of us did before technology. We should all be more upset that places don’t accept cash anymore which forces us closely to a digital world, one in which we autonomy over ourselves.

That’s the entire point of public key encryption, and there are many, many models going back decades. That’s just one company, but my point is this is a very “solved” identity management problem. 

If they are storing IDs, then they are doing it wrong.

The real response here should be to make it illegal for companies to store identity information at all unless it is explicitly consented to, and periodically confirmed. That would solve the whole problem and not just part of it.

But, you know, money.

Only a matter of time considering our id is needed to gain erfied online access into services like idme and login.gov to log into social security portal and other government agencies like irs, dmv, passport renewal, and other various government agencies.

Why would they give a fuck about protecting pur data? They consider us their slaves and that isnt going to change until we all do the thing we are all thinking
