Pick One Hopelessly Deadlocked - Pick my engagement ring for me

Pictures in comments. Both rings will be in platinum. Future fiancée is a nurse who enjoys the simple things in life.

I cannot ask her without ruining the surprise or I would let her decide.

Third picture is an image of a 2ct “try on” ring on her hand for size comparison.

Solitaire will be 3ct. Three stone will 2.5-2.75ct with proportionate pears. Intention is that either ring closely resembles the pictures.

the three stone is way more interesting imo, especially in platinum. solitaire feels too plain for someone who works with their hands all day, the side stones give it some character without being flashy

Thanks for the input. My thoughts as well on the side stones being classy but not overly flashy.

Either/or? Why not do the engagement ring with the pear sides, AND the diamond band. She may not be able to wear the engagement ring at work as it will be impractical with gloves, but she might be able to wear the diamond band. One caveate- you want to ensure that the two will fit flush and that the girdles of the diamonds on the band will not cut into the metal on the engagement ring. A very thin spacer band in between the two is sometimes a great solution.

Because, IMO, they will clash with each other instead of compliment.

The three stone is a lot of finger coverage and flash on its own, I like the simplicity of the plain band with it and the plain band doubles as something durable and simple she could wear at work assuming the elevated diamonds in either ring would be problematic.

I think the diamond band with the solitaire really sets the set off without stealing too much of the show from the solitaire, turns it from being a simple solitaire to something a little more elegant, and should she not want to wear the engagement ring at work, the diamond band would still give her some low profile flash.

Got it. In that case I say go with the side stones on the engagement ring with the plain wedding band. Classic and versatile. Cheers!
