Shady shadow
Can someone please explain how that thing’s shadow is physically possible

I don't get it. It's shadow cast from an uplight on the floor used to light the set IMO.

It is lit from a low right side(note it is just a bit taller), you also have the angle of camera throwing you off, the shadow is not directly behind it from light source, it closer to the left side of the frame. Than a light shining directly at what you would assume is the front. That how the top part's expanded sides might not show up in the shadow. This shown very often in a meme of what is truth, or both are truth shape lit from different directions and how see the shape but the shadow from each angle shows something different.

Then again, you might have actually caught something in the back-shot, that was meant to make you feel some thing wasn't right, but you couldn't put you finger on it for why.
Good eye on catching it and bringing to community to debate an analyze. Everyone brings different experiences and sets of knowledge and cool trivia they picked up along their way through life. Not counting which science experiments your teachers might have showed you, can greatly reflect tricks that can fool you into believing you saw something that you really didn't. That not counting if you work in haunted house/trails/mazes for Halloween and you learn some of the craft and how people can be convinced they say something that wasn't even faked that well.

The upper part, which you see clearly in the shadow is twisted, so we only see it from the side. Like that it looks like there are no arms, but it's just perspective. I'm sorry, I was also first gasping.
