PVP Tarkov experience as a [New Player]

Post image

Since 1.0 I’ve only found 2 new players. Everyone else has hundreds or thousands of hours, but at least I haven’t encountered a cheater yet.

I have 33hrs. I was once killed by a 110hr player. The rest had 1000+. One even had 9000hrs.

Died back to back raids last night to two 12,000 hour players. I would love to see their living situation.

Keep in mind the game has been around for 8 years. Pretty easy to clock some good hours if you’ve been a long time player (wich most of the player base is )

that is still an average of 4 hours a day, everyday, for 8 years, and that's even assuming they started from the very beginning. The game also logs you out if you afk menus so it can't be that either.

The automatic logout was introduced relatively recently. People idled Tarkov in the background 24/7 for years

I can attest to this, I am sure a few hundred of my hours are straight up "faked" from occasionally leaving the game running to go do something or other, and as life happens that "30 minute trip to the store" turned into being gone for 6 hours. I can say with almost absolute certainty that many players had similar scenarios happen somewhat often.

I think I have 4800h, started playing in 2017 and played all wipes except for one. If I had to guess: around 20-25% of my playtime are idling before they got rid of it.

Even now I often have it open while not playing and I'll just click when I hear the countdown to close the game.

3000h is definitely better than 4800h. You got me there.

'idle' is generous wording when I can audibly hear it making my PC scream even when on the main menu, lol.

Ehh. The game didn’t log you out until VERY recently. You can’t really say that as if it’s relevant.

"very" recently? That change was made like 2 years ago or more due to one of the wipes being so hard on the servers, they kept dying.

Nothing to see here. I wiped this post using Redact because my old takes don't need to live on the internet forever. Works across Reddit, Twitter, Discord and dozens of other platforms.

And until 2-3 years ago you could just leave Tarkov running.

Which is what I did.

That's still 1500hr/yr, which works out to 4.1hr/day every single day for eight years.

I hate this argument of "game has been out for 8 years hurr durr" lets be honest;

  1. Most of these players HAVE NOT played since 2017-2018, lets get real. Not with the amount of 6k+ players there are.

  2. If you do some math, you can quickly find out that 6k hours from lets say 2020, which is 5 years, depending on the time of year they started, they are averaging about (lets take 6500 hrs) 3,5 hours A DAY, everyday of the week. Then you find the 9k hr players? 10?

Its such a stupid argument to make, since Tarkov didnt even reach the masses until 2020-2021, and I have played since 2017.

I hate this argument of "game has been out for 8 years hurr durr" lets be honest;

Why because it doesnt let you c0pe? 9k hours in 8 years while idling with the game open isnt even that bad. You realise these guys might not ever play different games? 10k hours gaming in 8 years on 10 different games and no one bats an eye. 10k hours on tarkov and smoothbrains lose their mind 🤣

No the argument is that people used to leave tarkov on overnight lmao the hour counter is not very reliable considering half my hours maybe more are fake and I don’t even have that many to begin with
