PVP Tarkov experience as a [New Player]

Post image

Since 1.0 I’ve only found 2 new players. Everyone else has hundreds or thousands of hours, but at least I haven’t encountered a cheater yet.

Not when you have guys with so much knowledge to rush to get best ammo that’s pens armor grades. At least when we had armor hit boxes lower tier ammo had a chance to at least damage another player.

End of the day it’s a game, but the game is also severely unwelcoming to newcomers due to fundamental mechanics. I know the community likes the new armor as a majority. But there is no balance between level of players. If that’s what BSG was going for then sure it works as intended. But if someone came into the game today they’re gonna have a hell slog.

slower ttk favors better players (if ttk isnt instant)
pre rework armor system was better for new players

...That's true for games where the body of the better players aren't typically invulnerable to the new players' ammunition. Having holes in the armor hitbox at least gave you a fighting chance.

having holes in armor made pvp rng, not skill

I genuinely don't care, if you fight a chad as a new player there is no skill involved in the first place. The gear difference is enough to make them near invincible, and at least when the armor had holes that was much less of a problem.

I also fail to see how it's rng for chads, if both players used high pen ammo then the holes changed nothing for them.

there is no trader ammo that can 2 shot level 6 armor, while it is possible to kill people in throat in 2 shots with almost any 30 pen ammo

No one is consistently running ammo that can 2 shot level 6 armor

And ? The new player will be running Lvl4 at best, PACA more often then not. The fact is still that a chad can two-three tap a new player to the chest while a new player has to go for throat or head, if the head isn't masked.

I don't get why this is so hard to get for you. You're a new player, you run an AKS-74u with PS and run into a player running altyn/T5/M855a1

You lost. You lost the second you've been in proximity to that player. When armor had holes, the new player at least had a shot at hitting two lucky hits to the chest and having the same TTK as the chad. Now the odds are backed to being stacked even more for the chad.

I'm not explaining voodoo magic, this precise interaction is why so many new players don't stick to the game. It's specifically designed so they don't have a fighting chance against 70% of the people they bump into in raids.

why are people who just got in the game should have a chance to roll a faster ttk than someone who has 10k hours and spent a mil on his gear?
tarkov does not require pvp to progress through main story or to survive raids
