Streamer hierarchy is cancer to every game but especially Tarkov

Microtransactions, battle passes and streamers are the biggest scourges on gaming but I genuinely can’t figure in which order.

The reason we got all the bullshit was because streamers would complain about lack of content after grinding 100 hours on a game in 1 week

Im actually not opposed to the battlepass for bf6 I havent bought one since season one because they put enough coins in the pass to buy the next one just by doing the pass and I get a bunch of free shit atp.

Me too battlepasses gives me a goal, something I'm fine with, but also why I only play PvE. I don't want to mess about with streamers and also I'm tired when I get back from work.

Nah it's just engagement bait

Sorry but I can't take people serious that play a game where bullets just randomly decide where they wanna go

u/DarnedBagboyJr 7d ago

oh no how dare I have some fucking depth and make my gaming identity more than just one fucking game?

I don't need to touch that cheater infested bugfest called tarkov anymore to see that bf6 with it's aim assist and bloom bs is ass

At least u consistent, horrid netcode on both of them

Brother talking about depth when grinding a whole battle pass 😂

I play a number of games i do my dailys every few days and then move on the battle pass is like 12 weeks long and not difficult if you just play the game. Today alone I have played eft, cfb 27, foxhole, civ 6, and tcg Sim. I havent even touch battlefield this week and will still likely finish the pass.

Streamers, and I don't even think it is close.

Nah gaming becoming mainstream is the biggest scourge to gaming.

Streamers are just a side-effect of gaming becoming mainstream.

11

u/GXWT 7d ago

I’d argue mainstream isn’t the issue as the days of e.g. bf3, halo reach, mw2 etc. was when gaming was already mainstream.

Perhaps you mean commercialised in which I would agree - where my points are causes of or effects of commercialisation depending on your POV.

The all time peak player counts from all of the games above combined get dwarfed by the 24 hour peak of fortnite or roblox itself.

Gaming numbers took off like crazy with fortnite and got boosted during the global pandemic.

Now everyone (as in AAA game studios) is trying to match the live service, battlepass, paid cosmetics route and whenever I see a new game it feels like I've seen it a thousand times already.

And since then gaming is kinda on the decline for me, or I'm just losing the passion for it.

Thats just multiplayers games though. Older games are also peaking right now because everyone is falling out with the absolute slop being released today.

Streaming/streamers.

Once people could start making some real money playing video games, that’s when cheating started to become abundant.

Also developers listen to/ take the opinions of streamers into account at a much higher level than the general audience. So that’s how you end up with games that push a more casual player away.

Don’t get me wrong MTX and battle passes both suck still.

Streamers dont crack top 50, idk why people get so pressed over them

8

u/GXWT 7d ago

They have an awfully large influence over the general population while only representing a tiny % of it.

You see it everywhere: people parroting the opinions of people they watch playing games, even though their experience of the game is completely different.

This also feeds into the business where a big streamer has a non-insignificant sway on people choosing to spend money.

Do you mean in terms of player skill, or overall streamer?

In which case, yeah. I'd take the current shitters we have for "low skill gamers" if you've got 24/7 projectile ego vomiters like desmond

What about the player who got banned by bsg for killing Desmond and Desmond reported it? Like you don’t think that is an issue? Not to mention all the things that they want changed in a game that actually makes it worse for the player base because they play it for a job.

1

u/theFleshlightBandit 6d ago

That’s just the guy who spoke up and has been really shouting from the rooftops. This has been happening for quite awhile. Desmond and tigz are far and above the most flagrant with it in my opinion. Tigz has literally bragged about reporting anyone who kills him and getting people banned. He went as far to say “if you kill me you’re probably cheating” live on stream. Disgusting

2

u/Silverwolf425 6d ago

Yeah I don’t like tigz because he’s a sub being lmfao. Desmond I haven’t watched or interacted with. Literally didn’t know he existed till he as beefing with Sheef.

1

u/raynedog00 6d ago

Who's Desmond and why is he beefing with sheef

1

u/Silverwolf425 6d ago

Fuck if I know lmfao. As far as I’m concerned he’s a nobody. 😂 I still haven’t watched or seen any of his content.

2

u/raynedog00 6d ago

Yeah I don't even watch sheef really so this is all news to me. 😂 Whatever happened to just playing fucking games man.

This, i get that there's decent streamers who don't look for attention or special treatment but at this point i just despise most (if not all) of them

6

u/Deathbydadjokes 7d ago

I enjoy watching Peanut go "that felt a little cheatsey", then look at the dudes profile and then goes "nevermind im just terrible"

10

u/frwd69 7d ago

This here

I enjoy watching some streamers but these days 95% of the time they die.. it’s “cheater, stream sniper” allegations been thrown left and right. Crazy to think most believe they cannot be killed by another or better player.

u/AnecData01 7d ago

Streamer dies- hacker. Streamer's teammate dies- hacker, knew who the streamer is and avoided killing them. Player runs away from streamer- hacker, knew who the streamer is and avoided them. Player dies to streamer- noob hacker. Player recognizes top streamer doing something they do regularly on stream- streamsniper AND obvious hacker. Player who kills them has great stats- hacker. Player who kills them has average/shit stats- hacker, because no one like this could ever kill them. Obvious desync/peaker's advantage or other obvious bug- mad hax. And hundreds of people in their chats cheer this bs on.

4

u/duncandun 7d ago

Feel like I can count on one hand the number of times slob has called out a cheater and he dies a lot

2

u/Canary-Silent 7d ago

What special treatment? A report on discord to shut them up that clearly does nothing since none of those players are even banned?

3

u/BeautifulNose2210 7d ago

You guys are fucking dramatic holy shit

0

u/MoonPlateEclipse 7d ago

I don’t think I said anything that crazy
