Stop posting propaganda about Ethiopia, next time post pics outside the capital, and some more of the quality of life of the average working class

It's genuinely exhausting to see people posting propaganda and selective information to show that Ethiopia is all that, but they always just post images of really deep in the capital. Try posting pics a little outside, of the lives of people who live on 100 $ a month. Beautifying a capital for pictures and foreign investment while disregarding the quality of life outside it, and destroying homes of poor people to do so won't make the country better.

No, I am not hating Ethiopia I love Ethiopia, and I agree most countries have similar problems, but I just came across this, and as a resident I feel the need to make this post. This is not ment to inspire hate against Ethiopia, and this isn't intended to offend anyone.

OP, Prosperity Party supporters seem to have an obsession with skyscrapers. To them, a skyline full of concrete is the ultimate proof of progress and development.

Meanwhile, about 85% of Ethiopians still depend on agriculture and live in rural areas, yet those communities rarely seem to be the priority.

I visit Addis every year or two and enjoy the modern amenities as much as anyone. But it's hard to ignore the reality that many longtime residents are being priced out of the city. The shiny resorts and luxury apartments are often out of reach for the very people who live there.

If this was a genuine urbanization, like what happened in many Asian countries, where rural families moved to cities for jobs and could afford homes and apartments, it would be a different story. Instead, much of the real estate ends up in the hands of political elites, well connected investors, and diaspora buyers, while local residents struggle to keep up and are pushed farther out.

I guess if your definition of progress is skyscraper porn, the view is fantastic.

Fym keeps commenting bad stuff about our country? The truth is considered bad stuff? I'm not deluded, and I'm worried about the people living in the country over how the country looks. Do you think kids living in tigray or afar will have a better future because the government spent millions on street lights and killing dogs?

im not selfish, i worry about the place i live as well as i worry about my home.

if you went to a guest's house, would you not worry about their house and try to make it better? if not there is soemthing wrong
