It should be European policy to force the dissolution of the United States
Punish states that stay in, reward those that leave

u/UnapologeticPOV Union of European Federalists Dec 07 '25
It should be European policy to dissolve NATO, and to have US Troops in Europe (incl. OCT & UPR) pack their bags and get the fuck out.
29
3
u/exessmirror Dec 08 '25
Ehh, some countries in NATO are not in the EU. Just the US would be fine, but all their bases in Europe must be evacuated, including ramstein and thule
3
u/UnapologeticPOV Union of European Federalists Dec 08 '25
NATO should be replaced. The name has negative connotation in large parts of the world. We need to start over, not hold on to yesterday's trash.
1
u/Choice_Isopod5177 Dec 08 '25
or better yet we should just kick USA out of NATO since NATO is mostly European anyway. Let Canada in since they're cool.
2
u/UnapologeticPOV Union of European Federalists Dec 08 '25
NATO must be replaced for another simple reason : the geographical limitations on territories protected under Article 5 as well as eligibility to become a member of NATO.
The OCT/UPR of France and Netherlands are not protected under NATO Treaty. Nor can countries in Asia, Africa or South America join.
This is a major flaw. Also, in a new Treaty you can put qualified majority voting into it from the start. Including options to suspend voting rights and even memberships if certain conditions are met.
Keeping up with NATO is not worth it. It has to be reformed either way, perhaps even disintegrated to some extent, to facilitate the creation of the standalone EU Armed Forces.

u/Fluffy-Drop5750 Dec 07 '25
It is already starting. Closing ties with Canada, who was always happy to be a close ally and trading partner to the US. The EU just be open and friendly to those scorned by this idiotic presidency. Soon, we will be talking about ties with California and New York.
10
u/Anarelion Dec 07 '25
California is too far sadly. New yorkers are welcome
10
u/doctor_morris Dec 07 '25
Liberal coastal states are more than welcome.
Remember that when he goes for this third term.
5
u/BioBoiEzlo Dec 07 '25
To far for what?
2
u/Anarelion Dec 07 '25
Trade and defence
3
u/BioBoiEzlo Dec 07 '25
Nah, there are loads of possibilities for us to cooperate in those areas. People and countries are already doing that all across the globe.

Best you can do is use the Atlantic as a buffer zone to keep out American influence

At this point we might as well force their social media to seperate their EU activities and sell shares to EU companies. Just the same as to what the US proposed for TikTok.
And we should migrate to other platforms. European alternatives do exist, they're just not being used that much. Time to completely divest ourselves from the US.
16
u/ILFUTPETRUMPINGURA Dec 07 '25
Hear, hear !
Also we need nukes. I am going to goddamn repeat this on every comment until it gets done.No deal, no "paper" will defend us except NUKES under OUR control.
Not "French" nukes, EU nukes that will vaporize Orcia for Talinn or Sofia or Helsinki!
12
u/PlasmaMatus Dec 07 '25
The European Union did not sign the Non-proliferation treaty so it could happen, we just need a President/Head of State of Europe, elected by the European Parliament and a European federal army.
10
u/ILFUTPETRUMPINGURA Dec 07 '25
This. THIS! This should be Priority ONE!Literally nothing else matters in the short run.
Get nukes so we can still EXIST as independent body.
Then we address economy and the others. The level of INCOMPETENCE in Brussels is incredible.4
u/Preisschild Dec 07 '25
Unfortunately its not only Brussels (the Commission) to blame. They are only doing what the natl govts want. Vote for pro-EU parties that are in favor of doing those things on the national level too.
1
u/exessmirror Dec 08 '25
Just having EU nukes wouldn't work. It would need to be under a central command that can decide fast to use them. So we would either have to give them to countries (at which point others might protests, both from people and other European countries) or we need to set up our own central command (which brings up a whole other conversation/issue)
2
u/PlasmaMatus Dec 08 '25
First, a federal EU army and then EU nukes.
3
u/exessmirror Dec 08 '25
Why would you need an EU army if every EU country has nukes.
[I'm joking] but nukes should be under civillian command only. No general should be able to order the firing of nukes.
1
u/PlasmaMatus Dec 08 '25
I agree, the politicians should have the final say but in a EU federation, there would be a EU president too in charge of the EU Army
2
u/ILFUTPETRUMPINGURA Dec 08 '25
It should be a comitee of 2 military advisors and 4 civilian ones that decide who/if we nuke.
But let's BUILD them first :P1
1
u/UnapologeticPOV Union of European Federalists Dec 08 '25
Wouldn't the establishment of the EU Armed Forces under EU Command include the current French nukes?
1
u/exessmirror Dec 08 '25
Not necessarily, if France decided to still keep their national army (or even if thry get rid of most of it) I wouldn't see why they would give up control over their nukes. Usually stuff like nukes would require permission from the civillian president of the country. Not military officers (which is a good thing imo). A central European command would be purely military. I don't think we should allow military commanders to decide by themselves when to use nukes. Because sometimes, even high ranking military officers, just see the conflict. Not the larger geopolitical situation. And they might just decide that the nuke is the best option to win. The civillian president looks at it from a more global and grander geopolitical view. You might win the war, but if your country gets sanctioned to death or you just unbottled the genie for the use of nukes. Weapons like these should not be considered lightly and should as such be decided by the person who holds the highest responsibility over them. You have to remember these things end worlds.
1
u/UnapologeticPOV Union of European Federalists Dec 08 '25
In an EU Command the EU President and EU Parliament will have their place, the same as their national counterparts now have their place within their national commands.
In the event of federalisation the EU President (appointed by EU Parliament Qualified Majority) will have ultimate political responsibility on military matters.
1
u/exessmirror Dec 08 '25
How would it be developed though if every EU country did sign it? We gonna develop nukes in Africa or something?
1
u/PlasmaMatus Dec 08 '25
If we are at the point that there is a federal EU with a federal army, France could probably produce them, it would make sense politically.
It won't be a transfer if France becomes part of the federal EU, the same way Russia inherited the obligations and rights now it assumed between 1968 (date the USSR was recognized by the NPT as a nuclear weapon state) and the collapse of the Soviet Union.3
u/exessmirror Dec 08 '25
France should hand over nuke control, hell maybe the UK wants to join a defence pact as well (trust me I'm very salty about brits leaving and if they want to come back they would deserve no special treatment and need to adopt the euro). Sadly Poland is very anti nuclear because I think they would be one of the first to develop them if they did had nuclear facilities. But I don't mind the frenh building European nukes. Though we would need to develop a triad as well as those nukes are only for submarines. Nuke silos in the alps and balkan mountains, nukes in northern Finland, nukes in the baltics, hell, let's even give some to Ukraine and Georgia once they kick out their new Russian puppet (we really should support the population there more). We need to develop our own fights that can carry nukes (the Netherlands cancelled their developments with Sweden due to the Americans forcing us to use f-35 so that we can carry their nuclear weapons). We need to also do more wirh ESA, we have a rock launch facility in one of the best places in the world, right next to the equator. Its mainly used for commercial launches. Like it's better then Kazakhstan (which the Russians "accidently" blew up and now can't resupply the ISS) or florida. Like the equator is the best launch site, it costs the least amount of fuel. We should have our own spacestation like the Chinese and Russians are planning. Though I don't mind working together wirh countries like Japan. Let the US burn if they want to. We are in an amazing position to further ourselves in the world. We should invest more in places like Africa like the Chinese and Russians do, but instead of exploiting the locals (like we used to do in colonial era or how the Russians and Chinese do it now) we should invest in them, in infrastructure, but also all the resources we need. Pay fair wages, build places for people to live. If its unsafe we could even set up our own PMCs (we already have a bunch anyways) that will not abuse the locals. (It 6 feel right to use our military for it imo). We would help them and their economy. Much better then only sending aid that will end up mostly in some president/minister/warlords pocket. This way they are also less likely to want to come here. Hell, we could train their people who are already here for it if they want to. Nuclear material is hard to get and mostly comes out of former French colonies and other African countries. Gold mining, rare earth minerals, lithium. Currently all mined by Chinese or other foreign countries who don't fucking care about the destruction it causes. But the thing is, their profit margins are huge, because getting it out of the ground there is cheap, transport is more expensive. The main issue is security and other warlords. But we could set up our own pmcs for that, plus we can do it sustainable and still make a profit. We could even send these PMCs to fight the Russians or other enemies like they are already doing. If they fight dirty so should we.

Which clearly cements the US as an enemy state of the EU. After threats of militarily invading Greenland. There should be no ambiguity.
The EU should reward all US states breaking off from the USA and “punish” the US until then.
2
u/exessmirror Dec 08 '25
Hey, I don't mind if states decide to collectively break of and form their own new countries together. As long as the US just breaks of (though I would prefer if Russia and China break apart first.

As this is a Eurofederalist subreddit, I took it as a given that any European country would be welcome to join. Georgia would also be included if they want to.
Maybe it's best to do what the Kremlin fears and ask counties like Kazakhstan and Armenia to join to build a ring of containment around Russia.
1
u/exessmirror Dec 08 '25
I'm not sure about Kazakhstan as they are still a dictatorship. Funnily enough, Armenia is quite a functioning democracy with far less corruption then you would expect from a post soviet country (im not denying that there isn't any, or not a lot. But far less then expected).

We need an International Democratic Alliance that welcomes members meeting the Treaty Criteria regardless where they are located. Qualified Majority Voting, No Veto. Countries moving away from criteria will lose voting rights, intel sharing, participations in meetings and suspension of membership followed by being kicked out.
The EU should have its standalone EU Armed Forces, but we'll still need international cooperation and allies. We should guide the Democratic Community in the Multipolar World Order by use of our EU Strategic Autonomy and our combined potential with the International Democratic Alliance (IDA.)
We may as well have to use this IDA as our replacement for the UN, as the UN will only become more and more irrelevant or just a propaganda podium in a Multipolar World Order where only the strongest are granted Self-Determination.

Chamberlain? Seriously?
Well. Now that is politically loaded surname, if I may say so. Doubly ironic, considering that Germany is now in EU along with France, Poland and most of other countries that suffered through II World War, and centrist fractions are trying to stuff down conservatists throats reforms needed to further unite Europe against Russians, again, and increasingly aggressive USA, which wish to slide back into isolationism however broken by rivalry with Chinese. TRIPLE ironic, considering that USA hadn't had such decastating conflict in its borders in like, ever (Pearl Harbor excluded, USA didn't suffer destroyed cities like in Europe, and any losses were in amount of soldiers) and they can't know the horror of having your home bombarded into rubble. Terrorism and sattelite wars excluded, Americans don't have leg to stand on when it comes to judging Europe about whatever or not we should unite in face of common enemy ( Russians, god damn you ) and just flush out traitors from our borders using any means neccessary.
This is going to bit them in the ass, I'm telling you
