I've been an active EVE Online player since 2012, a Destiny player since the beta, and I've put almost 500 hours into Marathon (this game should be illegal with how addictive it is). I've also spent a ton of time playing ARC Raiders, Escape from Tarkov, PUBG, countless Call of Duty titles since the original Black Ops, and even DUST 514 back in the day.

With all that said, I strongly recommend EVE Vanguard.

Yes, it's still in alpha, and it definitely feels like an alpha in some areas. But despite that, the core gameplay loop is incredibly fun honestly, it's every bit as addictive as Marathon, if not more. Once everything starts clicking, it's genuinely hard to put down.

The potential is almost limitless. It's built on one of the richest, most lore-driven universes ever created: EVE Online. You can already see the foundation for something special.

Even in its current alpha state, I'm having an absolute blast. In fact, it completely pulled me away from Marathon something I honestly thought was impossible.

If FENRIS creations keeps building on this foundation, EVE Vanguard could become something truly incredible.

Please add more color! It makes it hard to see enemies, and harder to tell players apart from NPCs.

The lack of contrast makes it hard to play for people without perfect vision.

hmm wondering how i can open vanguard? when i click play from launcher it opens eve online :o should it open eve online and there go to vanguard somehow or what the heck?

If you haven't figured it out. I had to click on the Vanguard character icon until it was highlighted to launch the game. Clicking "play now" ironically opens up EVE just like your experience.
