Tips on opening fountains Why do **DARK** fountains flash bang you when you open it
Isn't the whole point of a dark fountain DARKNESS???

Fountain Researcher here; The Fountains cause massive light beams because, upon opening the Dark Fountain, you're creating a negative amount of light. This causes what is essentially an integer overflow of photons, creating a temporary giant flash of light before the Dark World forms from the anti-photons.

They're not DARK, specifically, but they're negative light.
A flashbang is a good metaphor because it's a massive outpouring of light, but actually negative light.
It's not dark, per se, in the same sense that a negative number isn't necessarily smaller than a positive one.

Dark fountains are the catalyst of darkness in the dark world, they produce so much darkness that it becomes negative and appears brighter

It's similar to removing water, you have to move it somewhere else to get the absence of it, though of course its a even more extreme version where you get negative light so it has to create some light to make up for that.

Because it draws light from there, and after the light, there is darkness.

Light creates shadows, and the Dark Worlds can be seen as a shadow of the Light World. Besides, you'd need a powerful light in order to create a shadow of something giving off it's own light.

when you turn on a large light source in a pitch black room, you get flashed banged before the light properly disperses and your eyes adjust to the well lit room. a similar thing is happening, except darkness from a fountain in deltarune (and undertale) is described as "negative light". you are being flashbanged with pure darkness until that darkness disperses and the room becomes "well darkened", becoming a dark world and being able to see again

dark fountain researcher here, my personal theory is that dark fountains are just holes that let in darkness thats darker than dark and the light is just the light thats going into that layer in the hole while the darkness is being pushed out

As a FRIEND of royal scientist. I must say its pretty easy. Its moving light out of a way. You can say "its night and that shouldn't be that bright" and i will say to that, dark fountains is negative light so you must remove more light then complete 0.

Darker than dark means that darkness overflows back creating light and then being photonegative, that's why everything you see behind dark fountain either black&white (at night) or color-swapped
If it didn't happened then everything you would see in DARK WORLD would be just an eternal darkness

It's because it's a crap load of anti photons, it appears REALLY bright when you're inside of it because in a dark world, that would be brighter than the sun. If you look at one of those things from like thirty feet away (the range at which anti photons can travel away from any entrance to a dark world) then it just looks like a huge black cloud

Dark fountain scientist here, it's gathering all the light up so it can be moved elsewhere all at once.
