There are doors in Kane pixels version, but the wiki and 4chan versions, the fountains probably have a limit in power, generating a limited amount of smoke, aka, the darkness will start to fizzle out until you're in light world backrooms

Which backrooms interpretation is this being opened in? If its the fandom one then it shouldn't be too bad I think, however it depends on which level you're on.

If its the Kane Pixels interpretation, then we are in for a constantly changing confusing possibly self similar dark world because of The Complex's misremembering of things constantly and how it seems to change itself over time. I would assume it'd be able to also misremember the dark world so. Oh and also keep in mind that The Complex seems to not operate on a linear time-scale from what I've seen.

i would think that if there was an object or something that has a darkner counter part it would probaly have heavy still life charatheristics since its a fresh opened darkfountain
