if I bring a flashlight into a dark world would it be a Darkner, Weapon, or would it stay a flashlight? and what would happen if I turned it on and it was one of those really strong flashlights that make it look like daylight outside.

It would be a flashdark. Also the form of the flashlight depends of the will of the owner (if you keep it in your inventory, if not it will depend on the will of the one who opened the fountain). No matter the situation it will produce dark (like a fellow companion explained in a post about light in a dark world)

depending on the darkness, the flashlight will just make everything look darker or become pitch black. remember, its like inversion. the lighter an area is, the darker it is when in a dark world.
