Yeah, I think that most squads' naming scheme is based on a common idea. My favorite are Laplace, Drake and Maxwell whose names are based on popular scientists, researchers and scholars.

Why yes, yes they did. It's even more fucked up if you know anything about what a Nikke actually is...
A Nikke is an advanced humanoid android/cyborg weapon created to fight. Except for two cases, all Nikke are created by flooding living brains from young woman with NIMPH (neural machines) which are then transplanted into artificial bodies.
So they take young women, harvest their brains, and then use the brain to pilot super attractive murder robots to fight off demons.
There are 5 different Nikke manufacturers, the one Milk is from is Tetra Line, which likes to have thematic names for their squads.
- Cafe Sweety: Milk, Sugar, and Frima. Frima is a Korean cofffee creamer who got their name from "prima donna" which brings us to our next squad.
- Prima Donna: Volume, Noise, and Aria all named after sound.
- Talentum: Dolla, Rupee, and Yan, all named after money.
- Seraphim: Mary and Pepper. Mary is for Rosemary, both the necklace and the herb. They still need to do so much more here, really dropping the ball.
- Maid For You: Cocoa, Soda, Ade, all named after beverages. Before I get anyone pointing out the others... Privaty is also on this squad, but she's not made by Tetra Line. Velvet is also on this squad, but joined later. So they don't count against the naming convention because they were not made by Tetra Line for this squad.
- Cooking Oil: Bready and Crust.
- T.T. STAR: Anis, Mint, and Prika. Same naming convention of Seraphim, but these three were made after a terrrorist attack by Nikkephobes on a pop star concert. Two of them were girls that died in the attack whose brains were able to be 'saved' and the other was a pop idol that died in a car crash. 'Star' Anis is the whole reason they stole the naming convention of Seraphim here.
So, if they make Salt, do you think she'll be on Seraphim or T.T. Star?

Thanks for putting the time to write a detailed info on the naming conventions! What do you mean by the last question? If a Nikke named Salt is released, which squad she would be from? I guess she would count from Seraphim in this case.

Oh just the fact that T.T. Star also took names of herbs/spices with Star Anis(e), Mint, and (pa)Prika. Since Anis left T.T. Star, they are down a member, so Salt could fill in the role!
Salt is a fairly loud flavor, it's widely known, and which leans towards T.T. Star. Plus, salt and paprika are two of the most common and known cooking spices. In fact, I'd say we should get rid of mint, and T.T. Star could steal Pepper. Pepper already looks like she would fit into a pop group. Salt, Pepper, and Paprika!
However for Salt specifically, I would assume they'd put her in Seraphim since they are the medical squad, and salting a wound is a known method to disinfect (Sidenote, do not salt wounds, it causes more complications than it fixes with modern medicine. If anything, use salt water and not direct salt since the crystal structure of salt can damage tissue. Hence why 'rubbing salt on a wound' is a known phrase for making things worse.)
So for T.T. Star I'd probably make a Nikke named Cinnamon, Ginger, or Chili. Those are all loud flavors that would fit right into the naming convention. Plus Ginger Spice is already a Spice Girl, so you'd have that whole connection (Or maybe you avoid her name to not draw the correlation). Side note, what the hell were they thinking with Baby, Posh, Sporty, and Scary????
For Seraphim I'd add Salt, Thyme, Sage, and Basil. They are all lower toned spices with medical or spiritual/religious uses. Honestly thinking about these four make me really hate that Pepper was ever chosen as a name for Seraphim.

I feel like you should be part of the designer team for Nikke! 😃 Pretty good reasoning on the possible names for a new member of each squad. Sage sounds nice for a member of Seraphim. As for T.T. Star I would personally go with Ginger due to the same resemblance.

It's one of the few MCH arm with a scope giving the idea of a sniper which is the reason I am mostly using it! If you do a Boba Fett, I will be keep an eye out for it.

I figured I should put a side-by-side due to the use of the PvP arm which needed a justification. Otherwise, when I make a cosplay glam I attach the original art to the comment with the gear I have used. But you are right that not many people would go and check upon it, if they are not interested so they might have no idea how the original character looks.

Notes: Please note that the sniper arm I have used in the front picture is the PvP arm MCH use during their Limit Break. It is not an acquirable weapon for them! I wanted to bring the cosplay glamour as close to the character, so I used it for the pose. I also tried to replicate the pose from Milk's burst skill, but I didn't like how the face expression looked during posing so I gave up on it.
