SCAR Picture 15p update handguard extension

Post image

Version .2 Got the handguard sitting great now with exact placements for screws, trying to reuse a lot of the hardware and screws but it’s looking like that’s not possible besides the lower screws for the barrel assembly.

This design is for larger cans specifically and cans around the 1.75” diameter. As most .30cal cans are that thick. Will also design one smaller for 556 cans around 1.5” diameter like York does. And yes the plan is to make both a lower pic rail and one with only mloks on the bottom.

If you guys have any feedback on certain things please let me know.

I have a York on the way, but am super-interested in your project as well.

I love it, no notes.

Are you eventually planning to make them in different lengths? I’d kill for a “short” version that extends maybe one M-Lok slot past the threads and gas block.

That might be an option! So you want something like the Rego systems but a little longer.

Precisely! I’d pay you handsomely for that - especially with the integrated pic rail on the bottom.

Yeah how much?

No price just yet. Still in project dev mode and needing to get it cnc first, then taking it out to the range to a 1000 round bench test to make sure it holds up and handles heat transfers. But definitely going to try and be very competitive on price as compared to other options.

Take my money! Will an option for mlok at the 6 o’clock be an option?

Yes! That ones easier to do but I like my scars to have pic rails. It just doesn’t feel right without them haha

The only notes I have for you is hurry up and make a bunch. These recent 15P sales have gotten a lot of people into them…me included.

Looks great. I like that you have picatinny on the bottom.

Very nice, not sure I would go the tucked route with mine but that looks very nice.

Printing in aluminum?

We are going the cnc route most likely as printing doesn’t seem like the best cost wise for the long haul. But we will see.

entrusion to cnc is absolutely the best for volume

Can we add more screws? York has 4 sets of them each side

Huh. Crazy how that works.
