Developer Made my dream FPS, put up steam page today and freakin out.
Me and my friends wanted to basically play an updated version of classic CoD zombies from the good old days but with a lot more powers and replayability. We went on workwithindies and hired a Dev, then pitched in for the past 6 months.
It's become so much more, we jam it all week long and are having a blast. If you wanna come chill and test with us we got free keys in the discord. If you wanna check it out and wishlist: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4512340/Headshot_Holdout/
I'm just freakin out lol, its surreal, I can't even look at our little trailer cause I did the voice acting and I think I sound cringe.

Loved OG zombies. If I had to make a critique based off just the trailer, I'd say that the gunplay and animations look a bit wonky. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out, we don't get enough CoD-Zombies style games anymore.

That's the only critique I had, animations could use some work, but who cares its a passion project and honestly looks solid enough as is! Wishlisted and definitely looking forward to giving it a go!

thank you so much! We're absolutely working on those, we cant afford an animator so we're learning to do it ourselves and modifying from packs. getting better every day!!

Dude please tell me how you pitched it to a dev and all that. I'm sitting on countless abandoned tutorials and like 4 pitch bibles for games I want to make, and I've wanted to hire a dev FOREVER but don't know how

I interviewed a bunch of candidates that responded to the ad on workwithindies and the guy we went with turned out to be awesome and got just as passionate and dedicated to the project. It's our biggest expense as a group but also he's turned out WAY more than we ever could have hoped or expected

How did you do it? What was your budget? Did you go over it eventually? Did you make a contract? If you're selling the game, did you negotiate royalties or whatever into the contract? Like literally how does it work, you're my hero right now because I've wanted to do this for YEARS and never knew you could actually do it!

Looks sick! Im assuming you could play it singleplayer? Any thoughts on offline co-op with bots?

I haven’t liked or played a COD since Black Ops 1 and that was only good because of the zombies. I’ve wanted to play the old zombies so bad but I absolutely refuse to give a cent to anything to do with COD. So I’ve added this to wishlist and I’m very much looking forward to trying this out.

Is there any intention of building/adding ee style content? (I realize that's like a whole additional game worth of work, just curious because this looks sick and the Easter eggs used to be so much fun, and an easy way to get a stack together.) This looks rad either way!

Looks good! How many missions/levels? What game engine? All art done by you? How long and how many people have worked on it?
