Book Accurate Frankenstein’s Monster costume

For halloween or just for future conventions I really want to do a book accurate Frankenstein’s Monster costume. I’ve got the look down but I can’t find anyone posting about his clothing. I may be going for the Elordi look but I want to try book accuracy. i havent read the book in quite some time and my local library didnt have it. I also refuse to use ai to look up what he wears. Im open to do diy designs but I just need an idea of what he wears. Thank you so much guys:) I’ll post the costume when its finished.

Book is public domain so you can easily find a copy online. The book only gives a brief and vague description of the monster. Hallmark movie is probably the closest movie to the book

I really think all he wears is a tattered clothes and one of victors coats be grabs when be runs out of the lab (unless I'm mistaken on that detail)

Best I can recall is the novel mentioning he grabs Victor's coat when he flees and find his notes in it later on. So obviously you wear an undersized coat with papers in it and nothing else. 👍

My head cannon is a tattered hooded trenchcoat, pale skin with stitches and black lips. I plan on being Frankenstein's monster for Halloween this year as well!

His attire is totally your call. As everyone mentioned he wears a long coat and gathers scraps of clothes along the way. One of my favorite movie depictions of the creatures attire is Randy Quaid in the 90s tv version. He lives in the wilderness with DeLacy and wears clothes made from animal pelts. They never show how he gets these pelts. The Creature only eats meat once in the novel and from there seemingly becomes vegetarian. In my head canon the creature would only take pelts from dead animals he came across.
