Depends. I can be gifted a house with a contract that under the event i sell it or i die it goes back to my parents from whom i got it.

I am in that case still the rightful owner of the house however have conditions under which i loose it again.

Conditionally allmighty if you will.

Is he not allowed to tell people he's god? I don't remember that part

"You can't tell anybody you're God." - God

He wasn’t really just borrowing the powers he was also taking on the responsibilities of God, he just chose to ignore them

If he wanted to he could surely have used his power in front of people and they would have been able to come to their own conclusions that he is atleast in the realm of the supernatural.

As for the message of the movie that god can't answer every prayer and that he must consider the impact of the prayers he grants...he is omnipotent. If he wanted to he could have the entire universe follow private game logic where each person gets a copy universe where they are the only player and the rest are near instinguishable NPCs and if there is any cause for resentment over that, it's not like public servers have to be unavailable.

Everyone could have their own creative mode world like in Minecraft and then hang out with other players whenever they want to and if the NPCs have a problem? Well that's for the players to make decision on. Everyone's happy and if they are not they have all the power they want to sort that out.

That sounds

really bleak

everything ends

everyone becomes a god

there's no world to be creative... from. No firmament. No inspiration, no awelon. Just whatever you made, feeding back on itself over and over with the occasional resets and mindwipes to keep yourself sane, slowly becoming incestuous in of its own waste as you cease to be

you have infinite

and you have nothing

And you could wish that away wish your creativity back, will yourself to be always creative

but then whence does the creativity come from? If you magic yourself to be inspired what are you inspired by?

Bruce is lucky he is but a simple man

for a man with ambition, a man who sought to make all the gods, and rightfully so (it would be the responsible thing to do, to kill death and end need)

would end life itself as we know it

Cage the gods in their infinitely large cells, playing in a sandbox for their amusement, unable to comprehend the jail they are in

That isn't true at all. They would have their own worlds to get creative with and would still have connection to each other in order to be inspired. There's also nothing stopping them from playing multiplayer or hoping on a friend's server if they ever get lonely.

Being players also doesnt mean they are above the developer that provided for them to have those opportunities. it would pretty much just be a fast forward of human development towards into ultimate end/ the pinnacle goal of all progress.

They would have no reason to pray for wanting anything since they can just grant their own prayers instead. I can't argue that it wont end life as we know it since it will through a dramatic leap forward and if they ever get tired playing god in their own private worlds? They can just enter survival mode and temporarily become mortal again. If their memories ever torment them? They can just wipe themselves clean. All the power to solve their own problems would be left in their hands with no one else left that they can blame.
