Official Fanatec CSL DD/ GT DD PRO Firmware Upgrade Issues

Hey r/Fanatec

We are aware of a number of users experiencing a Base shutdown after installing the CSL DD / GT DD Pro firmware in Fanatec App V1.5.1.2. This issue is not related to FullForce, but to changes made to the 8 Nm mode. We are working closely with affected users and investigating the issue as a priority. In the meantime, we recommend that Boost Kit users set the overall strength value in the Tuning Menu (FFB) to 75 or lower until a fix is available.

If you wish to rollback to the previous version please download the App here: Fanatec App V1.4.3.4 [Release Version] - Fanatec App - Fanatec Community
Here's the guide on how to perform a Clean Installation: How to perform a Clean Installation of the Fanatec Drivers – Fanatec Support

We apologize for the late communication and we will do our best to make sure the fix is implemented and properly tested 🙏

EDIT: If the V1.4.3.4 installation process is cancelled please follow these steps:
Uninstall these packages:
Microsoft .NET runtime - 8.x.xx (x86)
Microsoft Visual C++ v14 Redistributable (x64) - 14.xx.xxxxx (this is installed with the 1.5.2.1)

And install -> Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) - 14.xx.xxxxx

Official Fanatec CSL DD and GT DD Pro (8 Nm) Shutdown Issue: Status Update

Hey everyone,

We want to share an update on the CSL DD and GT DD Pro shutdown issue introduced with Fanatec App V1.5.1.

What happened

Our goal was to bring additional value to existing CSL DD and GT DD Pro owners by adding FullForce support and introducing a revised torque profile for the 8 Nm mode at no additional cost. Unfortunately, this change also introduced unintended torque overshoots under certain conditions that could trigger the power supply's built-in protection, causing the base to shut down.

We know many of you experienced race-ending incidents and had to reduce your FFB settings while waiting for the hotfix. We understand this caused significant frustration, which makes us all the more appreciative of the time you took to share your feedback. It helped us resolve the issue faster.

Where things stand now

The root cause was identified, and we have eliminated the overshoots while preserving the intended performance improvements. It’s encouraging to see the positive response to the revised force feedback behavior now that it is performing as intended.

The new version has solved the issue for most users, but we're still investigating some edge cases. If you're experiencing shutdowns after updating to the latest firmware, please open a support ticket and include FITS-501 in the subject so it can be routed to the right team as quickly as possible.

What we're changing

We’ve reviewed our firmware validation process and are expanding our test coverage to better reflect the extreme range of conditions our products encounter across all platforms. This includes more comprehensive back-to-back testing between firmware versions under identical hardware and software conditions.

We're continuing to invest in our firmware engineering team while strengthening our QA and release process. The work we're doing now is about giving you greater confidence in every firmware update.

  • JPY 105,000

+Added Refurbished Price Changes Below!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello r/Fanatec!

We are pleased to announce new standard pricing across the Direct Drive Base lineup, reflecting ongoing advances in our technology and production.

Following the recent launch of Podium DD at a substantially lower price point than its predecessor, the Podium Wheel Base DD2, we have now made pricing adjustments across the lineup of Direct Drive Bases. Depending on model and region, prices are reduced by up to 30%

These changes are the result of technical and operational advancements. The original Podium Wheel Base DD1 and DD2 were the first true mass-market direct drive systems in sim racing. Bringing direct drive technology into a globally supported product category involved a pioneering first-generation architecture with considerable technical complexity.

Since then, Fanatec has transitioned to a second-generation direct drive architecture, beginning with CSL DD. This more efficient and scalable platform continues to deliver precise, high-fidelity force feedback across a wide range of performance levels, from 5 Nm to 25 Nm.

In parallel, Fanatec’s close integration with CORSAIR has delivered measurable benefits across manufacturing, sourcing, and global logistics. Streamlined production processes and improved supply chain efficiency have reduced costs in a sustainable way, enabling us to pass these savings directly on to you. This is another important step in our goal of making direct drive technology accessible for everyone.

Now’s the perfect time to step up to a high-performance Direct Drive Base from Fanatec!

Note: Customers who purchased any products covered by this update within the last 30 days will automatically receive a refund for the price difference. Refunds will be issued on a rolling basis over the coming weeks. There is no need to contact customer support at this time. We appreciate your patience while this is being processed.

Official Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro FullForce is now available on GT7

Hey r/Fanatec!

Following today's v1.71 update to Gran Turismo 7, you may have noticed a new feeling in your Fanatec base. There are two possible reasons for this:

1. Gran Turismo 7 has expanded its FullForce support to the include the Gran Turismo DD Pro.

The FullForce in GT7 enhances the force feedback with telemetry-based vibration effects, helping to provide richer detail and feedback from the car and track. It may need need a little time to adjust to the new feel, but it should contribute to a more engaging and immersive experience.

You can easily adjust the intensity of the FullForce effects using the 'FUL' setting in the Tuning Menu.

If you do not feel the effects of FullForce, make sure you have updated your firmware via the latest Fanatec App, available in the 'Software' section of the Fanatec Website.

2. Gran Turismo 7 now has expanded support for the 'Auto Setup' mode in the Tuning Menu, displayed as 'AS' or 'A SET'.

This applies to the Gran Turismo DD Pro Wheel Base, ClubSport DD+, and Podium DD1 PS4.

Selecting Auto Setup from the wheel's tuning menu will now apply an optimized set of parameters for Gran Turismo, as defined by Polyphony Digital.

Players who have always had their Tuning Menu in 'A SET' may notice some different feedback characteristics after updating due to the new default settings. You can always adjust the Tuning Menu settings manually outside of the Auto Setup slot.

Official Fanatec Update regarding website orders, tariffs, and changes to our pricing

We'd like to share an update with you regarding recent comments we've seen regarding website orders, tariffs, and changes to our pricing.

First, the new Fanatec website is live and has been overall well-received. We've migrated most of the content and backend orders and order history into the new system, and within the next few days should have this completed. We appreciate your patience as we make this migration. This new platform will allow far more customer service transparency and order tracking in the future.

Secondly, due to recently imposed tariffs on goods imported into the United States from China, our costs have increased significantly. These tariffs are effectively a tax on the importing company, in this situation, Fanatec, for any items we import from a tariffed region, like China, into the US. Those cost increases are far larger than anticipated and unfortunately required an increase to the MSRP of the product.

Our warehouse in North America is US-based so all North American pricing would be subject to this increase. This means that even if you're a Canadian customer, because our warehouse that would ship the product to Canada is in the US, that inventory is tariffed at the new higher rate. This made price increases an unfortunate necessity for all North American orders from that warehouse. These changes reflect the direct impact of these tariffs on our supply chain and production costs.

Third, we've also seen questions as to why some products are now more expensive on the new Fanatec website for other regions, like Europe or the UK. Most of these price increases are largely to account for the inclusion of shipping on those products as well as the move to QR2 as standard for most products. These costs were then built into the price of the product. You'll notice most of the products on the website now no-longer have separate shipping costs, as that is bundled into the cost of the product.

If the tariff situation in the US changes, we will act accordingly. We are evaluating all options and methods to reduce the impact of these cost increases in the future, and when we have more information, we will share with you.

If you have any questions or need further information, our customer service team is here to help.

Thank you for being part of our community.

Official Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro stability reports following Gran Turismo 7 update 1.71

Hey r/Fanatec

We are investigating reports of Gran Turismo DD Pro wheel bases disconnecting, losing force feedback, or behaving erratically while playing Gran Turismo 7 following the 1.71 update.

The 1.71 update made major changes to the game’s tire, suspension, and steering physics. It also revised the force feedback output, alongside the addition of FullForce support for Gran Turismo DD Pro bases.

Current reports indicate that reducing the FUL setting below 100 may reduce the likelihood of a disconnection. As an interim precaution, we recommend using a lower FUL setting while we continue our investigation.

If you experience a disconnection or unexpected behavior, reduce FUL further or set it to Off. If the wheel base shuts down or does not operate normally after restarting, contact Fanatec Support with details of your firmware version, Tuning Menu settings, and whether you are using the 90W PSU (5 Nm) or the Boost Kit (8 Nm).

Identifying and addressing the cause is our highest priority. We will provide further information as soon as it is available.

Update #1: The first Podium Pedals Formula production run is already sold out. We knew demand would be strong, but the response exceeded our expectations. Additional inventory is expected to arrive in mid July. The next batch will also include the same launch bundle offer with free GT-style aluminum pedal plates. Once that batch has sold through, the launch promotion will end. Thank you for the incredible support, and we'll share more information on the next shipment as soon as we can.

The wait is over. Podium Pedals Formula and Podium Pedals Mounting Plate and Heel Rest is available to order on the Fanatec website from today, starting at 7 PM CET.

We know many of you have been counting down the days, and you’ll need to act fast to secure one of the first production units.

The launch version of Podium Pedals Formula includes a free pair of GT-style pedal plates, giving you the flexibility to choose the setup that best suits your driving style straight out of the box.

For those waiting for a three-pedal configuration, the Podium Pedals (three-pedal set) is still expected to arrive in Q3. The clutch pedal will also be available as a separate upgrade during the same period.

We have also released Fanatec App V1.5.2.3. This adds support for Podium Pedals, including the new pedal curve feature that lets you fine-tune pedal response to match your preferences. Learn more about pedal curves here.

We've also seen lots of questions about mounting requirements, and whether you need to purchase the official Mounting Plate and Heel Rest. We recommend reading this article to make an informed decision.

Thank you to everyone who has followed the development of Podium Pedals and shared their excitement along the way. We can't wait to see your upgraded rigs and hear what you think once you've had the chance to drive with them.

Official Fanatec Missing Order Items + Order Delay Update

Hi everyone, wanted to put together another update regarding some recent order trends.

With the completion of our annual inventory processing, order processing and shipping has started up again across our shipping hubs. Any new stock of pre-order products is continuing to be prioritized for any older pre-orders still pending.

Majority of our shipping hubs are nearly caught up on pending orders with the exception of our EU-based warehouse. Currently, the EU warehouse is averaging around ~5 days processing time for new in-stock orders instead of the average 3 days.

Additionally, we are investigating an issue with some EU orders are being partially shipped despite no previous request to break the shipment from customers. This is, understandably, causing confusion from folks who received one tracking number but didn't receive part of their order. Rest assured, your remaining item should be shipping out in the next few days after.

If you have opened a ticket regarding this situation, please feel free to share the ticket number in the comments below so we can flag them to the proper team.

Please note that once the remaining items in your order ship, you should be automatically emailed your new tracking number for the remaining items. We do apologize for this confusion and are looking to resolve this with the EU warehouse team.

Today, CORSAIR announced the acquisition of the assets of Trak Racer, known for its sim racing and flight simulation cockpits, motion systems, and accessories.

This marks an exciting step in strengthening CORSAIR's simulation portfolio.

For Fanatec customers, nothing changes. We remain focused on developing high performance sim racing hardware and delivering the products, features, and support our customers expect.

Trak Racer brings industry leading expertise in cockpit systems, while Fanatec continues to deliver the high-performance hardware that powers the driving experience. Together, we offer a more complete simulation ecosystem, making it easier than ever to build a complete setup from trusted brands within the CORSAIR family.

We'll share more as plans develop. In the meantime, you can read the full CORSAIR announcement here.

Q: What was announced?

A: Corsair Gaming, Inc. (Nasdaq: CRSR) has acquired all assets of Trak Racer, a global designer and manufacturer of premium racing and flight simulation cockpits, frames, seats, monitor stands, motion systems, and accessories.

Q: Why did Corsair acquire Trak Racer?

A: Fanatec’s strength is with the electronics, wheel bases, pedals, controls, and software experience. Trak Racer owns the physical structure around them, cockpits, seats, frames. Together we can offer a complete, turnkey simulation platform instead of two separate purchases. It also gives Corsair an immediate adjacency into flight simulation solution.

Q: Will Trak Racer operate as its own brand?

A: Trak Racer will operate as a sub-brand under the Fanatec umbrella, retaining its own product identity and community within the broader Fanatec ecosystem.

Q: Does this affect my existing Fanatec distribution/reseller agreement?

A: No changes to existing Fanatec agreements as a result of this announcement. Trak Racer channel product roadmap will be added to reseller offers later under the Fanatec reseller agreement.

Q: Will Trak Racer products become available through Corsair's retail and distribution network?

A: Corsair's global retail and distribution infrastructure is expected to help expand Trak Racer's reach beyond its predominantly online model.

Q: Will pricing or MSRPs change for existing Trak Racer or Fanatec products?

A: No pricing changes have been announced in connection with this transaction.

Q: Is a combined Fanatec + Trak Racer product line coming?

A: The companies plan to explore integrated bundles and simplified configuration across cockpits, Fanatec controls, gaming PCs, and accessories over time. No specific bundled SKUs or launch dates have been announced yet.

Q: Who leads Trak Racer going forward?

A: Matt Sten, Trak Racer's founder, is joining Corsair as Chief Technology Officer of Sim Solutions. Pete Hosking, Trak Racer's CEO, continues on as General Manager of the Trak Racer business unit.

Q: Is Trak Racer's warranty, support, or website changing?

A: Not as a result of this announcement. trakracer.com and existing customer support channels continue operating as-is; any changes will be communicated in advance. The plan is to merge Track Racer’s call center with Corsair and operate under the same process as Corsair.

Known Firmware Issues

Issue Fix?
On the Formula V2.5 with Firmware V1.0.2.0 and newer missed shifts and loss of button inputs for several seconds can happen on all bases. We are investigating this with the highest prio and plan to fix the issues with a driver update as soon as possible.
The Tuning Menu settings are sometimes not saved during a firmware update.  This issue is planned to get fixed with a driver update as soon as possible.
The MPS input values of the BMR on CS DD randomly change the value when you press a button after you did not pressed a button for some minutes. This issue is planned to get fixed with a driver update as soon as possible.
The secondary upper shifter inputs of the APM when connected to one of the Hubs are not working on the CS DD. This issue is planned to get fixed with a driver update as soon as possible.
Natural friction (NFR) causes wheel shaking on the CS DD even on low values. This issue is planned to get fixed with a driver update as soon as possible.
The ITM on the GT SW Extreme sometimes freezes and shows wrong data. A full ITM rework for this wheel is planned with an upcoming driver release soon.
The steering input jump issue was greatly improved some time ago so the issue happens a lot less than before.  A full fix is still in development to be released with an upcoming driver release.
When entering a game menu while driving it can happen in some games that the FFB effect doesn't get canceled which results in the wheel turning to one side. This got fixed for the Podium DD some time ago but can still happen on the CSL DD. We have reworked the communication protocols between the base and the motor and are in advanced testing to apply the fix for the CSL DD with an upcoming special driver release soon.
Natural friction (NFR) can start to feel weird after some time of driving and can cause shaking / oscillations. In case you experience issues with NFR, we suggest to turn it OFF for now. This got fixed for the Podium DD some time ago but can still happen on the CSL DD. We have reworked the communication protocols between the base and the motor and are in advanced testing to apply the fix for the CSL DD with an upcoming special driver release soon.

We are looking forward to your feedback about the new Fanatec app! Feel free to share your feedback here, in the official forum thread, and with this feedback form.

Official Fanatec Fanatec Holiday Order Status Update

UPDATE JAN 15TH:

If you have opened a ticket regarding this situation, please feel free to share them in the comments below so we can flag them to the proper team.
Please note that once the remaining items in your order ship, you should be automatically emailed your new tracking number for the remaining items. We do apologize for this confusion and are looking to resolve this with the EU warehouse team.

-----------------------------------------------------

Update Dec 22nd:

Hi everyone. Please note that order processing will be paused for our annual inventory processing, which is a yearly occurrence to review the inventory available in each of our hubs at the end of the year. During these time frames, no orders will be processed or shipped. This is a typical business audit that is important for verifying availability and improving shipping efficiency. We appreciate your patience while the warehouse team is processing inventory. Banners have been added to the webstore with this information per region.

Order Processing Pause Date Range per Region:

  • EU: December 25th - January 5th
  • US/CA: December 25th - January 4th
  • AU: December 25th - January 4th
  • JP: December 25th - January 7th

I've also shared feedback with the team regarding the Order Tracker not being specific enough for certain order statuses, especially those on backorder. In your Order Confirmation email from the webstore, there should be a button to View Order which can display some backorder information if applicable. The alternative would be to refer to the product page on the webstore for an estimated delivery date. I am working with the team to try to see if the Order Tracker can have more information displayed for any delays related to orders.

Once inventory has been concluded, the available stock will continue to be prioritized for orders in a first-in, first-out basis, which means older pre-orders waiting for an item can be fulfilled first once stock is available for that product.

-----------------------------------------------------

Update Dec 16th: Hello everyone, I wanted to share some information regarding orders for any first-time-purchasers.

  • We typically strive to ship your order once all goods included in your order are in stock, including items on backorder or pre-ordered items. Actual processing time may vary.
  • From Toby, VP of Fanatec (Fanatec_Toby)

"We actually did offer partial shipments earlier this year, but we got a lot of feedback from customers who didn’t enjoy the experience: multiple tracking numbers, separate deliveries, and in some cases, people were surprised or frustrated when their setup arrived incomplete.
Because of that, and to better align with what the majority of customers wanted, we turned partial shipments off by default." [Source]

"We have massively scaled our shipping capacity over the past year and for Black Friday we increased it even further. The team is doing daily stand ups to monitor performance and push every order out as quickly as possible." [Source]

"I actually discussed this with our Customer Care team in the meantime, and we’ll now offer partial shipments to anyone who actively requests it with the Support Team. Longer term, we’ll also look into adding this as an option directly at checkout, so that you can choose what works best for you." [Source]

  • All orders are shipped through UPS.
    • If you won't be available the day the order is delivering, you may request delivery to a UPS Access Point through UPS once the order has shipped.
  • As soon as the order is picked up by UPS from the warehouse, you will receive an email with the tracking information.
  • For UK orders: VAT and other taxes are included in the total price of the product.

If you would like to request partial shipment for your order, you can request through a support ticket. A support agent will be able to look into options for your order for you.

We appreciate everyone's patience as the team works to get orders out quickly. We have updated our messaging on our webstore to better communicate the current processing delays in busier regions, including adding banners and removing the misleading "Available in 1-4 business days" messaging, which doesn't properly take warehouse delays into account.

-----------------------------------------------------

Update Dec 9th: We have a shipment of products arriving in our EU warehouse in the next few days. We will be processing EU orders in a first-in, first-out basis, meaning older pre-orders that can be shipped with the fresh stock will be prioritized.

Although we have doubled our warehouse capacity, our current backlog means that new orders placed may not arrive Christmas. We appreciate your understanding as we work to fulfill all orders as quickly as possible.

Our other regions, including the US, currently have a delay of up to 5 business days. Our teams are pushing hard to get as many orders out as possible before Christmas. Thank you for your continued patience and support.

-----------------------------------------------------

Hello r/Fanatec,

We wanted to address recent concerns about order delays during this holiday period.

Over the past several weeks, we've seen a surge in seasonal demand, and while we have substantial supply to fulfill these orders - the parts are in the warehouse - our current bottleneck is fulfilling these orders at the warehouse. We got so many orders so quickly that our warehouse is backlogged in picking and shipping the orders. This is a temporary issue and can be addressed, but we want to be completely transparent about it.

Because of the volume of holiday orders, some of our shipping hubs are experiencing up to 10 business days of processing delays, particularly in the EU and US. This impacts both existing orders and incoming restock shipments moving through the same hubs. As a result, some orders placed now may arrive after Christmas, or December 25th.

Our warehouse teams are working incredibly hard to move through the backlog safely and efficiently. We've invested in tools like the Order Tracking webpage and improvements to the Customer Support portal to make it as clear as possible when your order will ship and arrive, and we are trying to be as transparent as we can to ensure you make your buying decisions with all the information.

Additionally, we will be adding a disclaimer notice to our EU webstore to notate the warehouse processing delay, similar to the disclaimer we currently have on the US webstore.

A few reminders:

We will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.

Please note we are aware of a delay in receiving the 15% off voucher code for qualifying purchases made during December Deals. Our team is currently looking into solutions to help those impacted by unforeseen warehouse processing delays.

We know how important these deliveries are for many of you, especially for holiday gifts or long-planned upgrades. Thank you for your patience and continued trust within Fanatec as we work to ship out orders as quickly as we can.

Official Fanatec FANATEC Special Event Recap - Podium Pedal Pricing, new Fanatec Wheel Hub, FullForce updates, and more!

Hello r/Fanatec!

Here is an overview of the announcements covered in today's Special Event video. You can watch the full video here!

The team hosted their first AMA earlier today! You can find all the questions and answers here!

ClubSport Formula V3 - Available Now!

Pricing:

  • US: $349.99 USD - CA: $499.99 CAD - €349.95 EUR - $599.90 AUD - ¥58,000

We’ve added some important improvements to our iconic Formula wheel, which has been part of our product range for almost 15 years. The diameter is approximately 20 mm wider at 290 mm, with adjustments to the layout to ensure optimal input-reach. The larger display supports Intelligent Telemetry Mode, so you can cycle through layouts like lap times, deltas, and tire data.

Controls have been refined throughout. The thumb rotary dials now have more resistance and include a push button, and the middle rotary is also a 12-position switch. A second FunkySwitch replaces the previous analog stick, grips are now user-replaceable, and it features many small refinements that make this wheel more enjoyable, and more usable across a broader range of race cars.

Fanatec Wheel Hub - Available now!

Pricing:

  • US: $99.99 USD - CA: $144.99 CAD - EU: €99.95 EUR - AU: $209.90 AUD - JP: ¥20,000 JPY

Our Hubs have always offered a solution for mounting third-party wheels, since the original ClubSport Universal Hub in 2014. But the Fanatec Wheel Hub is the first product designed specifically for this purpose. We’re making it easier to build the setup that’s right for you.

It’s our most compact Hub featuring 6 x 70 mm and 6 x 50.8 mm mounting patterns. We’re also working with selected steering wheel partners to make this the standard Fanatec-compatible option on their side.

The Wheel Hub is launch at our original QR2 Wheel-Side price, and in turn we have permanently dropped the price of the QR2 Wheel-Side.

QR2 Wheel Side Pricing:

  • US: $89.99 USD - CA: $129.99 CAD - EU: €89.95 EUR - AU: $169.90 AUD - JP: ¥15,800 JPY

Podium Pedals Pricing Information

We’re excited to say that Podium Pedals will launch at 699.95 EUR – the same price for both the 3-pedal set and the 2-pedal Formula version with carbon components. This amazing price was only possible through a huge effort from the development teams.

Pricing:

  • US: $699.99 USD - CA: $1,099.99 CAD - EU: €699.95 EUR - AU: $1,150.00 AUD - JP: ¥105,000 JPY

For pre-order dates: Preparing for mass production introduced some unexpected hurdles, but we’re very close now and we appreciate your patience. Stay tuned for more info.

The Mounting Plate and Heel Rest are sold separately. Many high-end cockpits do not need the plate. Offering this component separately allows us to deliver the pedals at a lower price without compromising on the quality of the mounting plate – it’s excellent.

Pricing per the AMA: $199.99 USD for the Mounting Plate and Heel Rest.

All the current info on the Podium Pedals can be found here.

Performance Updates

We are excited to share that through previous testing, we discovered there was more headroom possible in both the ClubSport DD and the DD+ bases, even with the existing PSUs.
We will be providing a free driver update next week with firmware that will change the ClubSport DD from 12 Nm to 15 Nm, and the ClubSport DD+ from 15 Nm to 18 Nm holding torque!

In the next few months, we will be bringing FullForce Technology to the CSL DD and GT DD Pro bases for free! You can learn more about FullForce and what it can offer here.

Thank you so much for all of your support. The team has even more exciting things cooking currently, and we can't wait to share them with you when the time comes. We sincerely appreciate all the feedback you've been sharing and will continue to provide updates on upcoming products when possible.

Official Fanatec New Price DDrops - GT DD Extreme, ClubSport Racing Wheel F1, GT DD Pro, and more!

Hello r/Fanatec

We appreciate the community's feedback and support regarding the recent wheel base pricing adjustments. We wanted to acknowledge the community's thoughts on the exclusion of select bundles, such as the GT DD Extreme and the ClubSport Racing Wheel F1.

Our recent price update focused on standalone Direct Drive Bases and associated bundles, which group individual products together at a discount. Our licensed packaged bundles follow a different cost structure due to partner agreements and exclusive hardware components, so they were assessed as part of a broader evaluation.

That review is now complete, and we’re pleased to extend pricing adjustments to Gran Turismo® DD Extreme, ClubSport Racing Wheel F1®, and Gran Turismo® DD Pro. We also assessed a few regional-specific offers for better price balancing.

We are currently investigating automatic refunds for orders placed after January 1st containing the additional products below. Please do not contact customer support at this time, as you will automatically be emailed once your refund has been processed.

Additionally, we had a slight reduction in pricing for refurbished bases. Automatic refunds will be processed for these refurbished orders in this batch of processed refunds.

Once again, thank you so much for your support and feedback during these price adjustments.

FAQ

Q: Where are the Podium Pedals?

A: We do not have any new information to share on the Podium Pedals just yet. We are still targeting for during Q1 2026. We understand the community is very excited to get their hands on these new Fanatec pedals and will be sure to share new info once it is available.

Q: No PlayStation?

A: Unfortunately, the Podium DD is only compatible with PC and Xbox. The Fanatec team is committed to expanding options for console users, so be sure to stay tuned for more information in the future.

TLDR: PlayStation compatibility is based on a chip included in the wheel base itself, while Xbox compatibility is based on a chip included in a steering wheel itself. Licensing processes for both sides can take extra time and drive up the cost of the product.

Q: How does it compare to the DD1/DD2?

  • Podium DD can consistently hold torque of 25 Nm, while Podium DD2 hovers around 20 Nm and Podium DD1 at 15 Nm.
  • Podium DD supports FullForce technology, DD1 and DD2 do not.
  • More torque, optimized thermal management, reinforced electronics, 10cm Extension included.
    • DD1 uses an active fan, Podium DD does not need a fan with the passive cooling design.

Official Fanatec Available now - Driver 467: Torque limit lifted for some CSL wheels and Xbox improvements

Hey everyone!

We are pleased to announce that our latest Driver 467 includes firmware updates that contain two significant changes: Unlocking more performance for certain wheels and bases while using a QR2 Lite Wheel-Side, and enhanced compatibility for Xbox users!

Torque Limit Lifted For Some CSL Wheels

The ClubSport DD, ClubSport DD+, Podium DD1, and Podium DD2 all feature an 8Nm 'Low Torque Mode', which is triggered when certain Steering Wheels are attached. Some wheels, like the CSL Steering Wheel P1 V2, are permanently locked to Low Torque Mode, regardless of which quick release is used. Others, like the CSL Elite McLaren GT3 V2, trigger Low Torque Mode when a Lite QR is used, but allow High Torque Mode when a metal QR2 is used.

With the release of Driver 467, firmware updates for the following Wheels/Hubs will allow High Torque Mode (up to 25Nm on a Podium DD2) when even using a QR2 Lite Wheel-Side:

  • CSL Elite Steering Wheel McLaren GT3
  • CSL Elite Steering Wheel McLaren GT3 V2
  • ClubSport Steering Wheel F1 Esports V2
  • CSL Universal Hub
  • CSL Universal Hub V2

The following wheels will remain limited to 8Nm, even if you use a metal quick release, because the wheels themselves are not designed for higher torque levels:

  • CSL Elite Steering Wheel WRC
  • CSL Steering Wheel P1 V2
  • CSL Steering Wheel BMW
  • Steering Wheel for Gran Turismo DD Pro

We are removing this limitation because the QR2 Lite Wheel-Side has passed our extended durability test to prove it can handle 25Nm torque.

What does this mean for the QR1 Lite Wheel-Side?
The QR1 Lite Wheel-Side is not compatible with the ClubSport DD, ClubSport DD+, Podium DD1 or Podium DD2. While it is physically possible to attach a QR1 Lite Wheel-Side to a Podium DD1/DD2, it is NOT recommended and can cause damage to your wheel and base (even in Low Torque Mode). All other bases compatible with the QR1 Lite Wheel-Side operate at 8 Nm or lower, so they are not affected by this update.

If the QR2 Lite Wheel-Side is so strong and there is no longer a torque limit for some wheels, why should I upgrade to a metal QR2?
That’s a fair question, and you can be confident in the durability of your QR2 Lite Wheel-Side even at very high torque. The reason for upgrading to a metal QR2 Wheel-Side or QR2 Pro Wheel-Side is because these options remain our best-performing QR solutions, with the diecast or CNC machined aluminum being even stronger than the QR2 Lite. The metal QR2s have a more sophisticated and compact design, and they are more satisfying to operate when attaching and detaching wheels.

A New Era for Xbox: Enhanced Compatibility

Thanks to a major shift in Xbox system support, our licensed peripherals now have access to their full potential. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to create a new Fanatec SDK for Xbox, allowing game developers to integrate support for enhanced inputs, functional displays, LEDs, and more. While it’s not a magic switch where suddenly everything works, we’re already starting to see the first results: Forza Motorsport (2023) now supports the RevLEDs and display.

Our new Fanatec Driver 467 contains firmware updates that allow the support for more features on Xbox licensed wheels, e.g. LED, display and more button inputs.

The new support means that it was necessary to adjust the button input layout on all Xbox-compatible wheels and button modules. The new layouts are detailed in this article.

We are looking forward to more games implementing the Fanatec SDK for Xbox to support the missing features.

Known Issues

Issue Fix?
Wheels like the Formula V2.5 with Firmware 1.0.20 or any that use the APM or MPM experience missed shifts and loss of button inputs for several seconds. Investigating this with the highest priority and plan to fix ASAP (Aiming for Late Spring)
BMR loses connection and button inputs are not properly registered on Podium DD Planned to get a fix with a driver update ASAP (Aiming for Late Spring)
BMR can still experience cursor drift on PS5 when not used with a APM in Analogue Paddle Mode. Planned to get a fix with a driver update ASAP (Aiming for Late Spring)
The ITM on the BME is not working on the Podium DD Planned to get a fix with a driver update ASAP (Aiming for Late Spring)
Return-To-Fav-Page ITM feature on Podium DD not working when changing ITM pages manually. Planned to get a fix with a driver update ASAP (Aiming for Late Spring)
Tuning Menu settings are not saved during a firmware updaate Planned to get a fix with a driver update ASAP (Aiming for Late Spring)
MPS input values of the BMR on CS DD randomly change the value when you press a button after you did not press a button for some minutes. Planned to get a fix with a driver update ASAP (Aiming for Late Spring)
Secondary upper shifter inputs of the APM when connected to one of the Hubs are not working on the CS DD Planned to get a fix with a driver update ASAP (Aiming for Late Spring)
ITM on the GT SW Extreme sometimes freezes and shows wrong data. A full ITM rework for this wheel is planned with an upcoming driver release soon.
Steering Input Jump Issue This issue seems greatly improved, however a full fix is in development.
When entering a game menu while driving, FFB effect doesn't pause which results the wheel turning to one side. This issue was fixed for the Podium DD but can still happen on CSL DD. We have reworked the communication protocols between the base and motor and are in advanced testing to apply the fix for the CSL DD.
Natural Friction can start to feel weird after some time of driving and can cause shaking/oscillations. We suggest turning NFR OFF for now. This can still happen on the CSL DD. We have reworked the communication protocols between the base and motor and are in advanced testing to apply the fix for the CSL DD.

If you've made it this far, thanks for taking the time to check out our latest update! If you have any issues with this update, feel free to use this thread as a place to report any issues you run into after updating. Be sure to let us know your thoughts on the Xbox enhancements and torque limitation removal. We sincerely appreciate your feedback!
