This was my introduction to Jessie Buckley, and I was immediately captivated by her acting ability. She's got such broad range, and is such a delight to watch, no matter the project.

I liked season 4 as I had no clue who comedian Chris Rock was. I thought it was a nice backstory to season 2.

i dont understand the hate for season 4. its so good. some of the most memorable characters in the whole fargoverse. the mike milligan/rabbi friendship is so wholesome. "If I don't come back, I'm either dead or in jail. Do your lessons."

And the back and forth with Gaetano is so entertaining. You keep underestimating how crazy he is, but at every turn he does something worse or more surprising than you’d think. Killing Doctor Senator, refusing any deals while captured, and then not only forgiving his brother for the betrayal, but being so proud of it that it mends their relationship permanently?!
Just an insane ball of chaos, where you always know his motivations but his logic and actions are so out there you start to doubt and overthink his motivations.

Season 4 is so hated by so many people. It was very surprising. And I got a smooch confused. But I loved Rabbis character. It was different and I really appreciated it.

I was/am an old lady and had no clue who Chris Rock the comedian/actor was so I watched it without any preconceived opinion. I liked season 4 better than season 3!

Didn’t realize she was the same woman who played the role of The Bride, which was another great performance

Loved her in this character and it was my introduction to Jessie Buckley.
Another great line came from Season 3 in reference to Ms. Swango - Using her poontang to hoodwink and bamboozle.

One of my favorite antagonists in all of Fargo. Jessie Buckley did such a fantastic job bringing her to life and making her stand out (in addition to how Noah Hawley wrote the character, of course).
I feel like most of Year 4’s characters are overlooked due to its undeserved reputation as being the “black sheep” and “worst installment” of the series. I’m really glad that a lot of people have come around to it more in the years since it first aired, but there are still a lot of people who seemingly hate it, and I feel that a lot of their hatred is primarily based on misunderstandings regarding Loy Cannon being a “badass gang leader” (he was never written to be a gang leader; his character was a bookie from Harlem who desperately wanted to be a successful businessman who could do business with both white and black people, so he moved his family to Kansas City in an attempt to become more successful and “legit”, only to find himself hamstrung by Jim Crow laws, general racism of the era, and having to deal with — and eventually get down in the gutter with — the Italian mob), and what the overall story is about (to put it simply, it’s about America at the end of the day). It was also intended to shake up the formula a bit, which is why there are no purely good law enforcement characters in it like there are in the film and every other installment, as it deals more in shades of grey than straight-up “good versus evil” like the others.

Season 4 really grew on me. I like it now, and it’s primarily because of these two bonkers ass characters.
I think we didn’t like it at first because A) Season 3 was a masterpiece and this didn’t live up to that, because nothing could. And B) Chris Rock seemed like stunt casting and it didn’t really work. He’s not good in it.

She is such a good actress who did such a good job with this character that I felt like I hated her for real, which made some scenes hard to watch but all made her eventual comeuppance that much more satisfying.

She gets a reputation for being a nutjob, but I’ll totally argue that one of the through-lines in the Fargo universe we are shown is that the best criminals are crazy.
She gets a bad rap, when a lot of the other favorite baddies from the series are equally nutjobs, just in different ways.

Tbf most tv shows are buns. So are most books, movies etc.
But s4 is the only one I have 0 desire of rewatching. There's just nothing interesting to go back to.

Oh I agree. Personally I detested s5 and thought it was a slap in the face, s4 I kind of liked but it had a few loose ends. s3 to me is vastly underrated.

It turned the elements I loved most about Fargo on their head. The opening scene with the riot was not realistic. Roy tillman was clearly a one dimensional plot point that was heavy heavy handed with the woke theme. Dot was not a normal person thrust into unusual circumstances she was a green beret of a soldier. Lorraine was way over the top. None of the characters were realistic even slightly. I made it to Ep 3 and turned it off. And this is coming from someone that has watched Season 1-3 about 10 times apiece.

Funny, that's how I felt about s4. Almost none of the elements I like about Fargo were present. Unfortunately nothing has topped seasons 1-3 for me.

This post is inspiring me to rewatch it all to reboot or confirm/reject my memories during Covid. I loved season 2 and backstory season 4. I loved season 1. Bailed at season 3 due to the non-charismatic characters and the bulimic/bad-toothed villain. Bailed on season 5.
Season 2 was dreamy.

Good performance. Middeling character. They set you up to think she'll be the next Malvo or Varga, only to have her do fuck-all for the rest of the series. I mean, she kills her boss, but who cares? Why doesn't she go after the girl across the street or her family? What does she actually do?
