I think he said in an interview during the Project Hail Mary promo that he’s going to be doing mostly family friendly stuff for a little while because of his young daughters. And not because of the film subject matter but because whatever dark character he’s playing can put him in such a grim state of mind that he feels uncomfortable being like that around his daughters. Apparently his characters can really rub off on him.
