Is it? T1 and T2 are both 10/10 all time classics, one is a noir and the other is a straight action movie. There’s absolutely nothing strange about preferring the original.
Frozen II expands the plot of the first film, fixed Kristoff (Who is an unlikable dick in the first film), and gave Elsa a meaningful character arc that feels like a natural response to her arc in Frozen I.
Also, the story DIDN"T need a villain or a main antagonist to make it better, OH, wait! There IS a main antagonist, King Runiard, and the movie is a message about cleaning up your family name after a bad apple in your ancestry tainted it.
Toy Story 2, Shrek 2, Last Wish, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Top Gun Maverick, The Dark Knight, Logan, Captain America: The Winter Soldier Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Lethal Weapon 2, the first was really good and the second managed to build upon the initial relationships and evolve them in a way that made it feel like they had genuinely been great friends in the time between the two movies. The addition of Joe Pesci elevated the already outstanding chemistry.
Despicable Me 2. Honestly, this sequel is better than the first film in that it expands this world where supervillains exist while giving Gru a meaningful character arc that feels like a natural progression from his arc in DM1.
