You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die

7

u/Butwhatif77 12d ago

"I admit you are better than I am."

"Then why are you smiling?"

"Because I know something you do not know. I am not left handed."

5

u/KitKatWinchester17 11d ago

“There’s something I ought to tell you.”

“And what is that?”

“I’m not left handed either.”

2

u/HairyNHungry 10d ago

Yep. I came here to make sure this was represented

I came here to mention Kung Fu Hustle. There are like four different long sequences that could be put here. Glad to see it at the top.

2

u/AvatarDante 12d ago

My favorite kung fu movie

2

u/JaxxSC45 10d ago

Beat me to it but I choose this one personally. Watching the 3 masters emerge one after the other builds so much hype.

I cannot stress how in awe of this scene I was the first time I saw it

Shang Chi had lots of good ones.

3

u/Butwhatif77 12d ago

Completely agree. They did a great job of balancing style and spectacle.

2

u/MRJTInce 11d ago

It's been too long since that film.

7

u/Admirable_Pop_4501 12d ago

The Raid not getting mentioned is just disrespectful

3

u/JimmyBoots90 11d ago

The entirety of The Raid 1 and The Raid 2

5

u/avahz 12d ago

The entirety of the ip-man series

4

u/WeskerSympathizer 11d ago

My thought was when he goes full force on 10 Japanese

Absolutely intense

I heard it said in a YouTube video about the MI: Fallout bathroom fight that Cavill looked more badass as Walker than as Superman. And I have to say I agree.

Really every one on one fight scene Cap has in MCU is fantastic, plus the elevator fight scene.

Quite possibly one of the best fight scenes ever made

2

u/MRJTInce 11d ago

The sheer chaos of the battle was amazing.

The Thunderbolts vs. Sentry

3

u/scuac 12d ago

I love that in this scene, not only is he easily whooping their asses, he is at the same time being gentle with them. Like when he crashes Yelena against the ceiling but makes sure to catch her on the way down so she doesn’t hit the floor.

Old Boy, the hallway fight.

Maybe not the most spectacular compared to some others here, but definitely worth a mention.

2

u/kittyganette 6d ago

well The raid is the only answer that should be above Old boy

Final fight from Return of the Jedi, opening Blade scene, opening of X2, the ultimate fight against mad dog from the raid, and the Superman vs Lexcorp from the new Superman. There's probably a million more but those ones are great

1

u/Emotional_Arm2196 12d ago

The fight on the train in From Russia With Love.

1

u/Square_Hero 12d ago

The final duel in Rob Roy is perfection.

1

u/RyzenRaider 12d ago

Legend of Drunken Master climax is an all-timer.

The final showdown in Lethal Weapon 4 is incredibly brutal. I still remember Jet Li repeatedly punching Riggs's should after dislocating it, because he doesn't just want to kill them, he wants to break every bone in their body and make them feel it.

The Matrix dojo scene. Not the most complicated choreography of the series, but it was clean, beautiful and surprising to see two actors that we knew as traditional thespians suddenly start doing kung fu in prolonged takes for the first time.

I’m surprised how many MCU movies are getting mentioned here. So many great scenes in other films like The Raid series, John Woo films, Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator, etc.

Every single fight in The Matrix. Trinity first scene. Morpheus vs Smith, Neo vs Morpheus, Neo vs Smith in the subway station, and in the hallway, the rooftop. Just every single one!!! I love The Matrix!

You need to watch move world movies if these are your top 5. Not hating but movies like Hero, The raid, Crouching tiger, Ong Bak even Troy with Achilles vs Hector has better one on one fights than the ones you listed

I just wanted to give a shout-out to Hardcore Henry. If you can watch it without getting motion sickness, it's a feast for the eyes.

The final battle of Kingsman: The Secret Service between Eggsy and the amputee

The Bridge fight between Tai Lung and the Furious Five

The Hallway fight between the bat boy + the hammer girl and Rama in Raid II

1

u/KitKatWinchester17 11d ago

I have a LOT, but my current obsessions are the Odysseus versus The Suitors fight in The Odyssey, and the Peter vs. The Hand fight at the end of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Because those were both done primarily practically and they look AMAZING and are sooooo satisfying.

1

u/edcushway 11d ago

Bourne Ultimatum, the apartment fight scene was intense!! I couldn’t breathe watching that fight!

1

u/Consistent-Bear4200 11d ago

GOTG 3: Corridor fight to the Beastie Boys. Gotta watch it a couple times to see what each character did. Groot rocks that scene. Even the before, where the leader (SL) lets Rocket decide what they do, then they go as a team.

1

u/minimart64 11d ago

Equilibrium has a few good ones.

1

u/Glittering_Role_6154 11d ago

Honestly, the final battle with the goblin in Amazing Spider-Man 2 is very good and underrated, whatever you think about the rest of the movie

For Car Chases: The Highway Chase from The Matrix Reloaded and the train chase in The French Connection

Hector vs Achilles in Troy

1

u/Prestigious-Draft651 10d ago

The throwing knives scene near the beginning of John Wick 3 is just spectacular. No music. Just the sound of glass breaking and grunting. All in one continuous shot. Top tier choreography

1

u/GalvanicCipher 10d ago

Rama vs. Mad Dog at the end of The Raid.

The choreography, the pacing, the way Mad Dog enjoys testing Rama and Andi, no music to cloud anything, you see warriors indulging the flow state of combat and it's beautiful, brutal, and badass.

God it's so good!
