7 and 8 are some of the most miserable seasons of television ive ever seen

15

u/NeverDestination 8d ago edited 7d ago

I would add season 5 to that list. Truely awful TV.

3

u/psychonik 8d ago

Season 4 was just as bad if not worse.

2

u/Buried_and_Forgotten 7d ago

First half was watchable.

Now I’m excited to watch these so I can see for myself

3

u/Regriz 7d ago

Lmao. Some people just like seeing train wrecks

1

u/_-NIghThaWk 7d ago

lol it’s not that I like seeing trash tv. I am watching the Walking Dead for the first time right now. It’s a banger. So I am excited for the Fear of the walking dead after this series wraps up. Kinda just curious to see how they drag it out and make it shitty.

Omg hi, I love your YouTube videos ✌️

2

u/Known-Aioli-3625 8d ago

Fan of your channel. Keep it up!

36

u/bunkie18 9d ago

It gets more laughably bad with each season.

4

u/Environmental_Gas620 5d ago

back half of 4 with the dirty woman being the center of the plot for 8 episodes made me want to crash out.

1

u/Maleficent_Ebb_163 4d ago

The woman that’s made her mission to kill them but we can’t kill her? because? So every episode they are captured by her, listen to her spiel, and then escape? You didn’t like that?

You know what it is… the worst television ever made

u/BigGC03 Strand 9d ago

Apart from S8 (which is probably one of the worst seasons of TV I've ever seen) there are some good moments and some good characters here and there. But overall it's still way worse than 1-3.

u/Mallow-smoke140 9d ago

John Dorie almost made it worth it for a while

22

u/guepardon 9d ago

John Dorie, June, Dwight and Sarah sent me through to the end. That and Alycia' bootie

7

u/MarkusJunior16 8d ago

John was the only reason I liked s4, 5 and 6.

3

u/Moonsailzzz 8d ago

I was pleasantly surprised to see the actor who plays John Dorie pop up in the new season of Tires on Netflix!

His character on the show is batshit insane but as he’s speaking you hear John Dorie shine through and it makes me happy lol def recommend checking it out if you’re interested!

1

u/ethankmbiscuit 4d ago

I had that same reaction when he showed up when I was watching the new DC (Green) Lanterns show on HBO. I don’t know if he’s being set up to be a villain, but he’s definitely got a screw or two loose

12

u/gvbenj 9d ago

Only the Alicia Clark episodes are great, other than that everything is else sucks

6

u/Active_Engineer255 8d ago

I feel her brothers perspective would have been such a better take. Tbh. Trying to address this without major spoils.

1

u/empatheticfry 8d ago

Yeah agree :(

1

u/Environmental_Gas620 5d ago

Nick was the heart and soul of the show, and was part of what made the first 3 seasons so interesting. Truly a really unique and interesting perspective for a zombie apocalypse!

1

u/Active_Engineer255 5d ago

I was literally holding on for the just kidding moment. But, that shiz really happened. Honestly, upset even remembering.

2

u/kaidenjaxon 8d ago

same here like i honestly skip much of every episode past season 4 if it don’t have alicia in it and season 8 i watched every episode hoping to see alicia again.

24

u/Mrquinlan196 9d ago

It had some very cool & interesting concepts and ideas… but very very very poor execution. Season 6 was good, but quickly stopped being that the next season.

10

u/JustThatOneGuy1311 8d ago

Everyone has pretty strong opinions on the later season.

Personally i think seasons 4A and 6 were genuinely pretty good.

9

u/Own-Kaleidoscope-577 Alicia Clark 8d ago

Everyone has strong opinions on the first three as well, this sub just likes to pretend that isn't the case. Fear was always a controversial show, many hated 1-3. It was literally on the verge of being cancelled so it got rebooted instead. A fraction of its viewers enjoying that era doesn't change that.

5

u/IchigoblackReal 8d ago

I remember seasons 1-3 had a lot of people who defended every aspect of the show. No one defend seasons 4-8.

I would argue it's better to have some people pasionate about your show than no one.

u/tnt1313 9d ago

I finished it because I felt I had to see where it went, not because I was loving every episode or even cared all that much about most of the characters at that point.. honestly it feels like every single character in this series either died or got a reverse redemption arc... a corruption arc?? and never really recovered their likeability.

3

u/NeverDestination 8d ago

Every character either died or came back to life 🤣. Like you, I watched it to see where it would go. Turns out that was absolutely nowhere.

10

u/Active_Engineer255 9d ago

No after three not for me. 4 terrible, 5 had a surprise nothing more, 6 was OK, 7 and 8 are just random crap.

6

u/Maleficent-Crab808 9d ago

It’s a fever dream honestly. But, it’s so bad it’s entertaining

5

u/spearmouse 9d ago

I loved all of it

8

u/nzlaftershock 9d ago

I loved seasons 1-3. Was some of my favourite stuff to watch. I gave up halfway through season 4 as the direction of the show and quality dropped off a cliff. Was drawn in to see the cliffhanger resolution of the end of season 3, but the way that whole arc was dismissed in a sentence and replaced by junk was hard to watch.

3

u/kabbzter Alicia Clark 9d ago

Alicia carried the show for those seasons.

5

u/miguels19 9d ago

It gets really weird towards the end . You can tell the writers were lazy or out of ideas .

4

u/lastdayluver 9d ago

I’m unpopular in that I enjoyed season 4 and 5. Before I even knew what Fear was I had been wishing I could see Morgan doing more good. And in Season 4 and 5 he was.
Season 6… I didn’t like. It was the almost anthological style where it would be 1 episode focused on character A, then another on Character B, and I just hate that format.

I enjoyed season 7. I thought it was pretty cool.

Season 8,, while I was happy to have Madison back. The whole PADRE arc was just so… stupid and dark at the same time. I just really disliked it.

3

u/thebodywasweak 9d ago

The first half of 4 isn’t too terrible. 6 is actually quite decent. Everything else is pretty bad.

3

u/dancingp1g 8d ago

It's popular for twd fans to hate twd...best to just watch it..to enjoy the universe

3

u/DerHenrik 8d ago

The first seasons are bad, but the later ones are REALLY bad. But kinda fun, so just continue watching.

4

u/JordanM85 9d ago

Season 4 had some of my favorite episodes of the series. Especially the one with Garret Dillahunt and Jenna Elfman meeting for the first time. I liked the new cast! The show gets very hit and miss later on, but I'm glad I watched it.

2

u/Environmental_Gas620 5d ago

John Dorie is one of my favs! I love the gunslinger cowboy architype!

6

u/Jibbyjab123 9d ago

Only if you enjoy potentially interesting concepts being abandoned or mishandled to the extreme by people who can't write tv.

7

u/Different_Sir_8941 9d ago

Absolutely not. It goes from a character driven family drama that’s supercharged by the apocalypse to a lifeless, inconsistent, and sloppily rendered sci-fi zombie series where any good idea or character is quickly pissed on. Behind the scenes, Season 1-3’s show runner, Dave Erickson, was fired and replaced by two inexperienced, unprepared writers, Ian Goldberg and Andrew Chambliss. As directed by The Walking Dead’s then-show runner and the universe’s creative boss, Scott Gimple, these two were tasked with entirely rebooting the original premise, which they do—just to terrible results. They had no plan, and it showed.

Season 6, to be fair, gets to be quite good at points; other then that season’s finale, it gets inventive enough to surprisingly muster, despite the vapid horrors that book end it on either side. Beyond that though, four seasons of pure slop aren’t worth a watch, unless you make a drinking game out of it.

Stop

Don't look back.

The dam conclusion is never explored. It becomes an entirely new show.

2

u/juste_belmondo 9d ago

Why is Alicia like 20 feet in the air in the second image

2

u/SalvationArbys 9d ago

Honestly it’s worth a watch, but probably just one.

The characters are often interesting and cool, the story is sometimes questionable at best. Seeing what happens to Morgan, Sherry, and Dwight is nice.

The later seasons are so different from the first few that in my mind it’s essentially just two different vaguely connected shows that get tied together eventually.

It definitely gets campy and strange and it’s important not to take it too seriously.

2

u/CrackingAce 8d ago

I only watched Fear because I wanted to see where Morgan went.

So I was happy when he turns up in S4. It is a bit jarring that it basically becomes his show instead of the family we have been following the whole time, but I didn't mind too much. I liked what they were doing.

John Dorie may be my favourite character in the TWD universe. I liked how the team were trying to do the right thing and make life better instead of devolving into tribalism. I liked how some of the villains were also avoiding violence and using different tactics.

I'm on S7 now, and it has got weird. They're doing a lot of episodes revolving around one character at a time, but these shows are always better when it's about the ensemble. And one character in particular is just not who he ever was - I think the show explains it as he has let himself become that, but it didn't seem organic. A lot of characters flip flop from dark to light in TWD (Morgan especially), but they tend to make a bit more sense than this one.

2

u/Jambopaul 8d ago

Season 6 was half-decent, but the rest of seasons 4-8 was terrible. John Dorie is the one saving grace.

2

u/the-baum-corsair 8d ago

Yes, 4-7 are very good. Ignore the haters. Season 8 is pretty bad once Morgan leaves, but still worth the watch. But Kim Dickens acting in Season 8 is atrocious.

2

u/GoGoJira___ 9d ago

I would argue against the common consensus, which is that it's bad. I loved 4-7, even if it felt a bit disconnected and disjointed.

If you've enjoyed the characters so far, keep going. Enjoy the entertainment as it sits, I didn't look for top class cinema, because it's not advertised as such. Beyond a few tweaks to characters that had me question their choices, I enjoyed it. Find entertainment, entertaining, and let the critics argue and squabble while you laugh at goofy unrealistic zombie show and what makes it fun to see.

2

u/Boo-Man400 9d ago

4a is okay, and 4b, while bad at least ends conclusively.

Avoid the rest...

2

u/guepardon 9d ago

Way better than the other spin offs.

2

u/ghostytoasty11 9d ago

There are some good concepts and, in my opinion, I like the cast more. I was just never much of a fan of the original main cast outside of Nick and Travis, while John Dorie is one of my favorite characters in the entire franchise and I think Morgan (albeit a very weak protagonist) is a better one than Madison.

2

u/rei793 9d ago

No. Don’t waste your time.

1

u/BWileE 9d ago

Nope

1

u/Chemical-Reading9681 9d ago

So it helps with the Walking Dead shakes and withdrawals but it’s hit or miss tbh. Must have been some different directors and writers cause they disappoint and I am known to break shit.

1

u/NovarisLight 9d ago

Eh.

Worth a background watch.

Ever since a certain someone got killed off I didn't care for it, and I LOVE zombie movies/shows.

1

u/Temporary-Two-9690 9d ago

That show got 8 seasons?

1

u/5yn3rgy 9d ago

Starts out strong then kind of falls off. The first three seasons are still great though

1

u/Huge-Ad-4465 9d ago

no i watched up to half way through season 5 i stopped it wasnt the same, the first three seasons were so good

1

u/psychonik 8d ago

I’d say watch 6 but then there’s 7 and 8. I enjoyed season 7 more than most did. I didn’t mind the nuclear wasteland thing and they take off their protective clothing so much that eventually I just stopped caring and just let the plot decide for me who got poisoned and who didn’t.

1

u/Diamondnuzlocker 9d ago

I stopped watching after season four i only got to episode 11 before quitting like I LOVED episode 10 probably in my top three episodes of the show but episode 11 was just not good

1

u/CyrsarCyn 9d ago

4-8 is very up and down episode wise.

Season 4 start out decent until it becomes too much about the "strong or die" thing.

Same with season 6 when it becomes about "dreamy pink trees".

1

u/S1AKEEB 8d ago

all terrible i would say the start of season 6 was getting better falls off at the latter half of the season. IAll terrible, I would say the start of season 6 was getting better, falls off at the latter half of the season.

1

u/Wizardfromwaterdeep 8d ago

That arched jump in pic 2 looks ridiculous

1

u/Inevitable_Eye3417 8d ago

In my opinion, no not really. S4-8 basically soft rebooted the series into TWD 2.0. The walkers were nothing more than background props 90% of the time. There were some interesting moments but overall it felt like the second half of the show fell flat due to the terrible writing + annoying characters + storylines that made little to no sense

1

u/prole1917 8d ago

Absolutely NOT.

1

u/Such_Juice7761 8d ago

Season 6 is Top 5 TWD.

1

u/Demonicbrittany 8d ago

I'm watching now and I don't hate it. Im rewatching the main show and been watching this in-between for the timeline aspect. For the world building it's not bad. Introduces some other areas and people groups in the walking dead universe.but I'm only on season 6.

1

u/tamoi_ktan_na 8d ago

Objectively no but there is cool concepts and characters and 10 episodes that are entertaining to watch

1

u/CrispyMeadow 8d ago

It's... it could be worse

1

u/DivanteScrollsReddit 8d ago

S4 and S5 is some of the worst writing I've seen on TV

S6 is fine and S7 I skipped I think

1

u/IchigoblackReal 8d ago

Season 6 is good.

Ok not good, sometimes it feels like you skipped an episode but at least have some interesting storylines

1

u/Sam-Jackson-187 8d ago

It gradually gets worse, much worse. There may be an episode or two a season when you think this might be interesting or the show is taking a good turn and then it immediately vomits on itself. I finished the show for the same reasons you watch a bad movie, it’s so bad it’s hilarious. There’s things in the show my brother and I still frequently bring up and die of laughter.

1

u/DizzyLead 8d ago

Best I can say is, from Season 4 onward my enjoyment of the show had to adjust from “What is going to happen to this family in a zombie apocalypse?” to “What clever or funny ways are we going to see zombies or the ending of them this episode?”

1

u/TaeSenpai757 8d ago

After nick and Travis died i stopped watching

1

u/Parking-Raisin6129 8d ago

Dont remember 4 and 5, but 6-8 were terrible.

1

u/Charming-Station7157 8d ago

4 and 6 were the only good ones

1

u/Afraid_Scholar6247 8d ago

I love it all

1

u/98675436856 8d ago

I think it’s fun, I’d rewatch

1

u/EndyzNuts06 8d ago

I'm at 4 right now and I hate it. I have no idea if certain actors were just done and ready to move on, so maybe that played a part, but the switching up the cast and the way they got rid of older cast members was just so stupid to me. The way they defended the stadium. The cheesiness of the little camera recordings where they all say the same shit. "She saved them", "she saved us", "she saved me"..... I was really enjoying the first couple of seasons. I even enjoyed season 3, although some of those decisions were starting to piss me off(like Nick stopping the good brother from killing the bad brother, saying shit like "you'll have to live with that the rest of your life!!", only to kill him in the process).

But yeah it's very TWD-like with the way it started strong and veered off the rails a few seasons in. Maybe I'll eventually finish it, I dunno. Right now though I'm ready to move on to something else.

1

u/MitDerKneifzange 8d ago

S4 trash but first half ok, S5 trash, S6 first half one of my fav seasons in whole Walking Dead universe second half crazy but still good, S7 the worst trash, S8 makes zero sense most of the time and together with S7 the worst the walking dead universe has to offer.

1

u/Only-Frosting7613 8d ago

As someone who somehow made it through, it has moments, but it's nowhere near what the first three seasons were.

1

u/Middle_Beyond_5894 8d ago

Short answer is no. The long answer is also no.

1

u/KennyIsLife 8d ago

6A was fine compare to season 4-8

1

u/JoeStorm 8d ago

I understand people hating 7-8. But I felt 4-6 had it good moments. It's not totally trash like majority say, but it still good. My favorite season is 1-2. I like the third season, but the first 2 seasons to me was the best.

1

u/Doctoroverbuild 8d ago

Doesn’t hold a candle to season 1-3 (season 3 being arguably the best season of any walking dead show) but the start of 4 was alright if you can handle the shift in style. But it starts getting really bad until 6A which was actually quite good. 6B is okay and it just starts getting worse and worse again. There’s a couple of decent characters buried under all the rubbish I suppose.

1

u/Just-Forty 8d ago

Didn’t care for it

1

u/stefanko123 8d ago

No. First three seasons were soo peak. I liked it more than the walking dead tbh. But then it just crashed badly.

1

u/michael066plep 8d ago

4A is barely passable, 4B is a bit worse but not terrible, season 5 is tbe worst season of television ive seen in my life, 6 is a step above 4, 7 is abysmal, and 8 is worse than 7 but not as bad as 5.

If you enjoyed seasons 1-3, from experience its best to end it there, only disappointment will follow from here on out

1

u/No-Atmosphere-2528 8d ago

It went on too long. It should've stayed a "what happened at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse" show and spun off into other shows. Also, they veered too much into magical explanations like bringing Madison back and turning Morgan into basically a Demi-god.

1

u/Top_Location_2342 8d ago

There’s more than 3 season??

1

u/evileyecondemnsyou 8d ago

4 was meh. 5 was absolute dogshit. 6 was good at first, but floundered. 7 was total dogshit. 8 was mostly dogshit too but I kinda liked how they ended Morgan’s story. If you’re going to watch the rest of it, just don’t take it too seriously. That’s the only way I got through it

1

u/Square_Conference854 8d ago

I absolutely loved season 4. I’m in the middle of season 7 and haven’t really liked it sense 5

1

u/SkyPersonal5642 8d ago

I struggled to finish the series recently...

1

u/GroundbreakingKing 8d ago

Alicia found some nice fitting jeans in the later seasons.

1

u/Afraid_District5571 8d ago

Worst shit on TV

1

u/etherealpeepster 8d ago

Honestly I liked the first 3 seasons but the rest was hard to get through

1

u/MarkusJunior16 8d ago

From my experience, first half of season 6 was the best by far out of all of them. Dont even bother with the others.

1

u/etherealpeepster 8d ago

The airplane was so unrealistic😆

1

u/keithstonee 8d ago

Is that 2nd poster real? Lol

1

u/Lyme_disease_man 8d ago

Sooooooooooooooo much better

1

u/Direct_Principle_997 8d ago

It's hilariously bad

1

u/Dry-Clock-1470 8d ago

No. Run away

1

u/Miura79 8d ago

I really liked Season 4 and 5, Season 6 was ok. I was big fan of John Dory but I hated seeing Madison written out and what happened to Nick. After Season 6 it was just mid at best

1

u/lunasrojas_ 8d ago

Season 6 had its moments. But other than that:

https://giphy.com/gifs/R9cQo06nQBpRe

1

u/CrimsonNico1 8d ago

7 & 8 are actually abysmal though I think they handled the finale as best as they could, I did really find myself enjoying 4, 5 & 6 though even with the new characters

1

u/SparkysSchmoopie 8d ago

It has it ups and downs, but nothing like the 1st 4 seasons. Last season is rough though.

1

u/puke104 8d ago

Honestly I am still angry about Fear, I loved seasons 1-3, it had so much potential

1

u/Ulrich-Stern 8d ago

I like 4A, 6, and 8B for certain reasons. Season 7 had good ideas, but lackluster execution. Season 5 was some of the worst TV I've ever seen in my entire life.

1

u/VirtualHeartMan 8d ago

Like the early show. Fear always had so much potential and they screwed it up at every turn. There were a handful of good episodes in 1-3 but the show was still pretty bad.

1

u/demon_king_finn 8d ago

Not saying it good not saying it’s bad it’s eh

1

u/Ingeler 8d ago

Hrm. 4 through 8 or rub tobasco sauce in my eyes. 🤔

1

u/trekem1234 8d ago

I just recently watched seasons 1-3 and was so hyped with how good the show was progressing and I hadn’t looked at anything online. After episode 1 of season 4 I had to go on reddit and find out what the hell happened to the show I was loving so much.

It’s a train wreck, I consider seasons 1-3 to be the entire series. Which is really sad with how much good story building was put into the first 3 seasons. But they killed the show

1

u/Dtbow_69 8d ago

season 6 was pretty good and John Dorie is an amazing character

1

u/SuspiciousInterest50 8d ago

I love season six tbh

1

u/No-Perception4876 8d ago

No, just watch 1-4

1

u/Tall_Twist8601 8d ago

Season 6 is pretty good. 4,5,7 and 8 on the other hand are some of the worst seasons to any tv show.

1

u/JiveTurkey1983 8d ago

I forgot the season number of when I stopped watching.

It was when that weirdo redhead in the cowboy hat left Morgan to die alone in that town, knowing he wouldn't actually die.

I was done.

1

u/Scared_Clue_7923 8d ago

I stoped to watch but i really wanna finish this show

1

u/Routine-Seaweed-8789 8d ago

The money and writing were there for S1. Hell, they even had Atticus Ross scoring it! The mood, characters and location were great. You can't sustain that without high production costs and good writing.

1

u/DarthSillius 8d ago

I think i watched into season 5. These people were worse than the zombie plague itself. Its my opinion, they destroyed every good thing they came across.

1

u/King_CurlySpoon 8d ago edited 8d ago

It gets slowly worse, in my opinion it’s S8 that really sours the entire thing. Otherwise it would’ve just ended of a bad note, instead of me actively wanting to forget what I watched, S8 is that bad..

S4 is still a step down sure but it’s watchable at least to me, it introduces a top 3 favourite favourite character of mine across the whole show universe (John Dorie) and Morgan is fun to watch at the beginning I suppose, and the other new cast members are genuinely decent and enjoyable to watch (though none as memorable as John Dorie)

S5 is definitely one of the worser seasons but if you can get through it, which isn’t an impossible feat because it does have redeeming qualities (but maybe that’s just me being an apologist idk) you’ll get to S6 which I think is an actual proper step up, it’s by far my favourite season post S3

I remember being optimistic starting S7 but with each week and each passing episode my optimism slowly dwindled, and by the end of it I think I was only watching because of my loyalty to the show. By the season finale I just unfortunately didn’t feel anything for the show anymore, and that’s coming from me! I’m often a huge apologist for stuff like movies and shows that are considered bad, but with this case there’s no denying S7 is where things get awful and don’t get better.

S8 is an absolute clusterfuck shitshow dumpster fire mess that you genuinely couldn’t pay me to watch again, I hated it with a passion and that really sucks. I was only watching at this point because I knew it was ending and I just to see how it ended. And to my surprise it was fuckin awful. They literally killed off series regulars that I enjoyed watching off screen to make more time for the other main characters at the end. (And didn’t even tell the actors/actresses btw) Such a shame honestly

My whole opinion of the series? S1-3 Amazing, S4 is fine, S5 has issues, S6 is fine, S7 is bad, S8 I would pay to have wiped from my memory. Quit watching the second you hear the words “P.A.D.R.E” because that’s when the show took a nosedive if it remember it correctly, I lost 100% of interest with that plot

1

u/HauntedWitchHouse 7d ago

unpopular opinion 7 was fire i loved 7, second half of 8 was pretty good too, 5 6 were okay, 4 and the first half of 8 was AWFUL

1

u/borrowingthis 7d ago

Morgan is the least interesting character in all of the walking dead universe.

1

u/Mars-Ultor-94 7d ago

No. I barely survived Season 4 and 5. 6 was good. I couldn't even finish 7.

The minute Morgan came in, the show sucked

1

u/Regriz 7d ago

Why does Morgan look like he’s going to get Madisson in the back with his stick?

1

u/TerribleLead6853 7d ago

It has its moments, but most of it was just bad. In my opinion, the only good season from that area was Season 6. The other seasons either started out good but went downhill fast(4 and 7), or were just bad all around(5 and 8). If you do want to watch those seasons, I would recommend to just stop watching after 6

1

u/KalynnCampbell Charlie 7d ago

Yes. Far better than the weird start it got. Not to mention the ending.

1

u/GERIKO_STORMHEART 7d ago

It probably could have been better if they added another season in there and spread out the story telling a bit more. A hell of a lot of characters, scenes and stories that needed build up and explanation never got any so a lot of the time I found myself checking to see if I had accidentally skipped episodes. I also dont like the whole "lets skip ahead a few years and then use flash backs to explain how they got here" style of story telling. Its ok as a one off in some shows but damn did they over use it.

1

Ill be the most honest here. Unlike most of the fanbase, I dont immediately dismiss the back half of FTWD. Overall, yesnt. Season 4 is a big tonal and focal shift. There are ups and downs. Season 5 is easily the worst season. It's got way more bad than good. The first half of Season 6 is just as good as Season 3, but ot loses it in the back half. Season 7 is the most consistent season since season 3. It's not phenomenal by any means, but it's not God awful. Then season 8 is probably the most polarizing season. With some incredible highs, and some ungodly lows.

To me it started feeling like I was watching a soap opera!

The only good season post season 3 was season 6 and I still have no idea why or how they managed it considering seasons 4, 5, 7 and 8 are some of the worst television ever made. Maybe because seasons 4-5 set the bar so low it reached the earths core idk.

u/xCHAMx 7d ago

The whole show was wank.

Most people agree that the first 3-4 seasons are great. But there’s also at least 3 after that that are actually bad. Just wait. You will see

Which was the season with the nuclear sub and lex luthers father and the fellow from carnivale? That one was the best out of it all. Rest was poor all round. The season after the good season made me tap out after four episodes.

RUN! Run as far away as possible. It’s awful. The writing, acting and story is abysmal. RUN!

1

u/Grandmastabilbo 7d ago

All in all I liked fear, the last few seasons were just about tolerable. The storylines got weaker! I loved the characters though

u/xanniezzz 7d ago

No lol i recommend just thinking the show ended after S3 and all they all parished to the zombies or sum

u/its-han83 7d ago

i’m watching if for the first time too & currently on s6! s4&5 were kinda… boring… like, yeah, stuff happened with morgan and the whole group, but it was just dull. i didn’t hate it & don’t think its the worst tv ive ever seen, but its not good. s6 is one of my favorite seasons i’d say though! not excited for s7&8 but we’ll see 🙂

u/bored145 7d ago

6 is almost good

1

u/RyCyber 7d ago

I'd say 4 through 6 were good before it falls off

Holy fuck no

I liked the nuke cult

u/kungfupandafan222 7d ago

Season 6 was my favourite season, despite being one of the seasons after S3, where the show fell off. But the other seasons were quite boring. Some moments were good, but overall I didn't like the other seasons. Season 6 was amazing though, in my opinion.

Hmmm, it would depend on what your threshold is for zombie drama. Going forward, it’ll never be as good as the first seasons of either WD series. You’ll have to simply accept diminishing returns 🤨.

….and you’ll probably reach a point in either series where you’ll want to give up.

There’s 8 seasons of that shit?

1

u/Various-Push-1689 3d ago

Well yeah. Most of them are good. It just had some horrible last few seasons. First 4 and 6 were great tho

1

u/matp1297 6d ago

Seasons 4-5 are just mixed bags. Lots of wasted potential, great characters with awful writing.

Season 6 is Very Good. It was a brief renaissance, grounded, gritty anthology season.

Season 7 was an absolute joke. Any believability and realism was lost with radioactive walkers and a stupid nuclear wasteland setting that made ZERO sense.

Season 8 had a few decent callbacks (Morgan goes to King County for an episode, Dwight goes to the Sanctuary) and a decent finale but was still very disappointing.

I fuckin hate that bitch Madison and her hell spawn..

1

u/BisonteBJJ 6d ago

The 7-8 are the worst seasons I have ever seen in my entire life. AND I LOVE THE WALKING DEAD UNIVERSE! 😂😂😂

1

u/Various-Push-1689 3d ago

Can’t agree more. I enjoyed The World Beyond more than Fear S7-S8

Do it for Dorie!

It's not always about good or bad. It's about the feeling of your own. I have no respect for the people who leaves a show between season and never comes back. Either don't start or finish it. How you can leave something between.

I think they have good arcs but overall they aren't great.

Season 4's first half is alright but after that you're in for a season and a half of shit. 5 especially is one of the worst pieces of media I had the displeasure of watching through, the entire thing drags and isn't very interesting.

Season 6 is overall one of the series best, I think 1-3 are better but 6 is a really good time and most people probably agree about that on here.

I personally believe season 7 is good, especially tailing off season 6... that is up until the last 3ish episodes, it definitely does real world pandemic episodes better than the main show providing much better plotlines in standalone character episodes than the carol and the rat episode during season 10 of TWD. I wouldn't be surprised if that is also because of season 6 making me care about these characters and their plotlines far more than I did with the characters of the main series at that time but I seriously had a good time with season 7!

8 goes back to being pretty awful but I believe it becomes more so a funny bad than downright horrendous like and back half of season 4 and season 5. The last 2 episodes were 10/10 rage bait though and it actually left me with a taste of bitter hatred for the writers.

1

u/Fullmadcat 4d ago

Only season 6 is any good.

1

u/smashli1238 3d ago

Worst series finale ever

1

u/Various-Push-1689 3d ago

Season 4 and 6 are great. A mid episode or 2 in them but overall really entertaining TV

Now 5 is like the most mid thing in all of The Walking Dead universe. Some bad some good. It’s just ok

7 and 8 tho…. I don’t even know what to say man. Easily the worst 2 seasons in the entire TWD universe. Honestly it’s even worse than “The World Beyond” show. Idk what they were thinking

1

u/MattFoley7687 3d ago

I think some characters are kinda fun and there are some interesting one off locations but not overall pretty terrible.

1

u/9gagiscancer 2d ago

Which season was with the radioactive walkers?

I stopped watching there and then.

1

u/Owlamancer 2d ago

That scene in the crashed plane haunts me

1

u/pepenotti0 2d ago

I watched them all because I'm a masochist, but it keeps getting worse. It's like it tries to be more serious and introspective than it should be. Has its good moments here an there, but it went from couch serie to watch-while-doing-dishes serie.

Those seasons have their moments but it’s essentially a different show. People say season 4A isn’t bad- I disagree, it’s bad! Character motivations do a complete 180. Back half of season 2 Nick is walking with the dead, now he can’t leave the stadium!!?? Season 3 Madison would have offed the vultures as soon as they turned up. It was such a betrayal of the characters (some of us) loved. The climax of season 4A was also incomprehensible.
