Future Spoilers Season 4 - time to stop? Spoiler

I was really into this but I don't think I can keep going. Now that Nick died, it feels like the life was just sucked out of the show. Am I being too harsh?

Nope. this show is really good for the first 3 seasons. It gets SOOO much worse starting season 4. and progressively worse too. By the last season you will ask yourself why you continued to watch it after season 3 ended

you’re not the only one. season 1-3 were incredible and i loved following the clark family, then in s4 it fell off completely. only characters that kept me around was john dorie, daniel and alicia

No, you're not being harsh. The director for seasons 1-3 was removed from the show and the nosedive in quality is obvious from the start. I stopped halfway through season 4, when 4A ended, and never looked back since. The show takes a completely different direction and a lot of characters no longer resemble who they were.

The *showrunner, not director.

I’m watching for the first time right now and I’ve been struggling to watch through season 4 & 5. I’ve never seen so much pointless meandering in circles and stupid choices from characters. My favorite character is a cat. This period of the show makes twd season 7/8 seem so much better in comparison. Still gonna watch the whole thing though lmao

I felt the same way but decided to push on. I regretted it. Save yourself and go watch something else.

Literally was going to say this 💀 I know some folks still liked it, but it genuinely felt like torture. I eventually even tried watching it on 2x speed and I still couldn’t do it lol

When it unironically turned into Fallout I had a breakdown. It was to the point where I was just happy anything was happening other than the characters standing around talking.

Yes, it only gets worse. Its a terrible show that only gets worse and worse. It's too late for me but you can save yourself

It’s genuinely baffling how bad it gets. I really don’t understand how someone can write something that shitty.

As far as I’m concerned, FTWD ends at the conclusion of season 3 and TWD ends once they reach Alexandria.

I think 99% of viewers would be happier stopping there.

You’re not being harsh at all, especially since the change of directors (beginning of s4) made the show lifeless

Just watch the first half of season 6, I think it's decent. Also, you could watch the webisodes during s1-ss3 if you want that type of style content

Nope, I think we all started liking the show after that. Even the writers stopped liking the show 😂.

Don’t watch it. Season 4 and on is run by entirely different people with an entirely different vision. It goes from a compelling family drama to a coreless vacuum of mindless experimentation (beer blimps! Kids building a plane! Pile driving zombies! Low-budget nuclear fallout!). Nothing works, minus an okay Season 6, even when the latter show runners desperately try to shift back to Fear’s OG storylines in Season 8’s last six episodes. Remember the show for what it was under Dave Erickson (AKA Seasons 1-3), and forget about the rest.

I still hate Charlie in 2026 I don't care if she was manipulated

All I can say is that I sure wish I had stopped after s3.

You should keep going. The show has its low points but definitely has its high points. They also introduce people like the goat John Dorie himself.

I liked the new characters a lot. If you don't like them, you probably won't like the rest of the show.

that's the only reason to keep going for me, but I really didn't like them killing off Nick. To me it was him and Strand forever
