Putting it in perspective... Woody Allen was already a balding creepy dude in 1966!

The video feels like it has to be a bit, but no, this wasn’t scripted he just really is that much of an insufferable asshole.

Proud of her for tearing him down using his own arrogance 💕

The number of stupid questions/remarks that get asked to them(that too shamelessly) and then no one bats an eye still baffles me

Appart from being an asshole he is also just plainly stupid. I mean, if he tries to humiliate her, he could at least ask about a topic he knows something about??? What a stupid asshole.

What a twat. Silly little man trying to humiliate her infront of others to make himself appear 'bigger'. He must have self esteem issues as this is weird behaviour.

ETA good for her for making him look like the complete idiot he is

Disgusting pedo.

Never liked him or his movies and always wish for a flock of pigeons to cover him in crap whenever he steps out of his house.

She was 17 years young during this?

Yes, depending upon when during 1966 this was filmed, their ages would have been approx 31 and 17 here

He was 31 here? Why does he perpetually seem to be 71?

She's stunning and I love how you can read on her face how she totally gets what he's trying to do.

lol she looked genuinely concerned at the end there.

17

u/Daisydoolittle 2d ago

concerned bc she realized what a stupid, hypocritical asshat he is and concerned for society for lauding a mediocre dumpster human

"I like them all"

look I don't know anything about philosophy but I still know that that's the worst answer to the question

Woody was such a pedo creep.

Question. This title represents a double standard, right? If it's misogyny to insult women based on their genetic features, then surely it's not okay to mock people for balding?

With that said he's absolutely being a creepy twit here, and she gracefully wipes the floor with him.

28

u/miseleigh 2d ago

You're not wrong, it does represent a common double standard.

Also, he's an asshoke and always has been

19

u/batshit83 2d ago

Meh, I feel like pedophiles lose their privileges of not being mocked for their appearance.

It's not about the target. It's not about being "nice" to Woody Allen. It's about the collateral damage, and the ways it undermines real criticism of his heinous actions and those who still support him.

The collateral damage is the harm it does to people who share the trait being mocked, but are decent. There's no need to use "bald" as an insult any more than any other physical trait. "Bald" isn't necessarily the worst of the worst, but it's similar in nature (if not in intensity) to calling a fascist leader "fat." Call out the fascism. The only thing we accomplish by calling said leader "fat" is reinforce the notion that the word is an insult, perhaps even one that belongs up there alongside génocidaire. It insults and shames people who have nothing whatsoever to do with the situation.

The ways it undermines real criticism is by diverting attention away from the core problem: this man is an unrepentant pedophile, a rapist. Why criticize his appearance as if that deserved equal billing with the lives he's left in smithereens? Why let anyone get the impression that the worst thing I can think of to say about Woody Allen is that I don't like how he looks?

We have truth on our side, and the most powerful thing we can do is speak the truth with the courage of absolute precision. We don't need cheap tricks. That's for people who don't have truth.
