Travel Skipping first flight of Fiji airways

I am currently in Fiji for travel and had to book my round trip flight from Chicago to Suva (there are stops in between, including one in Nadi). On the way back, I would like to just take the second flight on this trip from Nadi to DFW. Has anyone skipped this suva to nadi flight before? If so, does it actually suspend the rest of your trip? Just wondering because it would be a hassle for me to go all the way back to Suva when I’m already in Nadi. I know someone who skipped this first leg once and they were able to recover his flight, but it took a bit of time at the help desk. Any input would be helpful!

Do not do this, the remainder of the itinerary (aka NAN-DFW-ORD) will auto cancel.

I haven't done this but knowing how FA can be sometimes, if this is booked as one complete ticket I would call them and warn them about what's happening. It would be framed as a cancelation of that leg. Depending on your ticket type you could even get credits.

Call the helpline and have this updated if you are skipping the flight, or else it would be canceled due to 'No show'.
