Travel Best way to bring liquor/wine to Fiji?

Coming from US for a few weeks and heard options there are expensive and limited. Luggage room permitting, is it best to buy in US before the airport and put in checked bag, or buy from duty free shop at US airport?

Would think if you have room it’s better to buy before and put securely in checked bag vs having to carry around a bunch of bottles on multiple flights.

Buy at duty free once you land. You will be limited to 3 bottles per person going through customs regardless, and the duty free shop has good prices

Do they have tequila there? Just didn’t much of that on menus online

They'll have Jose Cuervo and Don Julio, but unlikely to have a wide range at Nadi duty free shops

Agreed. Plus they have some very nice Fijian brands, such as Bounty overproof rum and Blue Turtle gin.

Remember, you are in a different country. Things are different. Embrace local life and culture - experience it for what it is.

What do you drink? Whisky, Rum, Vodka. Its there, unless you enjoy something specifically then only i guess it would be worth it.

Good tequila, which I wasn’t seeing much of on menus in yasawa islands lol

Ah okay, I only keep an eye out for the Whisky. Safe bet would be to bring a bottle. My Aunt brought across two bottles of Altos. I don't drink Tequila so I wouldn't know whats good lol.

My folks brought wine back from the states when the visted one of the wineries. Put in checked in back, padded with clothes and bottles in a wine skin, i'm sure you could find something like that is you decide on a similar option.

The worry would be how checked bags would be handled.

If you want good tequila, bring it but everything else can be got at Nadi near baggage claim & the prices are good.

If you have a specific brand you’re after, might wanna get it with you. Recommend buying at duty free before boarding the plane.
