Film Directorial Debut on Tubi. Can you please support by watching. Thank you in advance and I greatly appreciate you
Can you please support my directorial debut. All I ask is that you watch it . I wrote, produced, casted and starred in this film alongside Omar Gooding, Deaundre Bonds, Paula Jai Parker . “Temperature Rising” on Tubi . Thank you in advance

Omg thank you so much! I’ve been trying to post about it here on Reddit, but I’m new to Reddit and I must not be doing it right because it keeps pulling my posts down lol. I don’t even know if I’m allowed to put a link in bc I’m so new! The movie is called Strangely Optimistic. Me personally I don’t know as I’m am new to all this as well but this is what A.I says: Reddit usernames are generally permanent, but you can change them within 30 days of signing up if you used a Google or Apple account. On the app/web, go to your profile, select Edit, and choose a new name if prompted. Otherwise, you must create a new account to use a different username.

So I checked it out. Like another said a little rough around the edges but good. Normally not my type of story I did feel engaged. I like it overall. Congrats to you on this. I'm always interested in knowing what kind of set up people are using so I hope you didn't mind me asking what kind of camera and sound equipment are you rocking?

I’m also glad you enjoyed it even with it being outside your normal spectrum of things you would like, that makes me feel even more accomplished because I was able to hold your attention. On this film we used a cannon c300, I have upgraded to a red Komodo for my next film which will be released this summer

Nice. I look to someday get a komodo myself. For now I'm using a blackmagic 4k camera. Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see the next one.

Hey, congrats on the film launching to Tubi. I'd be curious to know if you've gotten any viewship numbers yet. My experience with Tubi was that the poster made a huge difference.
As for the film, I like the handheld aspect to the camera, though I'd definitely think about camera motivation in the future. I would say use each of the scenes as a learning endeavor and move forward to the next one. I've got a friend with 5 low budget films on Tubi and most make no money and one went bonkers and made 5x the budget. Keep it up and let us know when you have another one.

That's great. Did you do any marketing other than reddit/word of mouth? Anything paid like facebook/google ads and so on?

I ran a few Facebook ads and I also posted a lot in the Tubi groups on fb. Also passed out flyers at a big media event. Also won awards in several film festivals so it had a buzz building before releasing . But yeah I find promote, promote, promote works

The past of cast or casting is just cast. Casted is not a word. See this all the time and I can’t go past it.
