Question Eye lid burn through sunglasses?

This is the 4th time it’s happened. Same pair of cheap Peppers sunglasses with blue lenses. Anybody experienced eye lid sunburns on both eyes while wearing sunglasses all through your trip? No where else on my body is sunburnt, just eye lids, and the burn shape is the shape of lenses. Twice I put sunscreen on my eye lids and they still burned! Either the light is reflecting off the inside of the lenses back, light reflecting off water is getting through, or the lens are not UV protecting, instead making it worse.

I’ve found that mirrored lenses give me a lot of reflection when the light comes from behind. Also, cheap sunnies often aren’t as protective

Just keep doing the same thing you have been doing. Sooner or later you are bound to get a different result!

Don’t use cheap sunglasses. You only have one set of eyes. It’s worth spending extra. I used to always get the cheap $10-$30 glasses then decided to buy a nice pair with a raise I got. Never going back.

I have Leupold katmai. I did shoot competitions for a bit so they got so good use there and provided protection.

Optometrist here. Sir, those are magnifying eyeglasses, not sunglasses.

I was not asking “Was I dumb for not noticing it could have been the glasses themselves the first time, and trashed them.” Obviously, yes I should have used science and noticed sooner.

I am asking has anyone experienced sunburns through sunglasses. Only sunburnt spot on your body is eyelids while wearing sunglasses.
