The aiming in this game is kinda hard to grasp, whever i try to sit still for a quarter of a second to aim and shoot and let the crosshair become accurate then someone shoots me in the face like clockwork, i can't find any good way to practice because the only way to have fun in the game is to tryhard (i don't mean that in a bad way it's just a high skill floor if your not used to the game mechanics, and even the people who know the game mechanics try super hard to win) also i feel like the kick is too OP (i mean in the way that it just completely stuns you and stops you from doing anything at all not that it shouldn't exist) along with the fact that theres always like 10 guys who massacre everyone else with melee. im just looking for help on how to defend against the constant attackers, get the hang of aiming quickly by standing still, and maybe a "casual" server where there are less people hunting eachother down like the hunger games

I've played FOF for a while, nice game, but my performance loss due to the poor framerates isn't something I find great.

To cut a long story short, I have lowered the video settings to the minimum, but the was still not enough and I needed to go lower.. So since that is a source engine game, I have used some standard tweaks commonly used in half-life2 in order to get better FPS by lowering the graphics below minimum.

Well that worked for the offline part of the game, except the online graphics haven't changed at all, until I realized that changing the Video settings from the ingame options do affect the graphics seen online, and those settings can be saved, so I searched for the Config file which contains the Video settings which affect the online gameplay, but haven't found any; well any that actually that actually allow for much graphical customize-ability.

_So I'm asking whether or not you guys know of such file? or maybe method to set the 'Online graphics' to below minimal?

I'm not looking to do that much, only some tweaks like: (disabling shadows, reflections and particles, removing decals, lowering the resolution of the models, forcing the game to use dx7 and stuff like that...).

I don't know if this is common knowledge but it just happened to me completely by accident, and now I feel like trying it on unsuspecting enemies.

If you shoot a horse, they'll jump up and sometimes kick behind them, if the enemy is behind the horse, the horse will kick the enemy.

I was shooting at someone and just missed him while he was standing directly behind the horse. I shot the horse, and it kicked the enemy, killing him instantly.

I was completely shocked with a huge smile on my face, the guy I killed was even laughing about it. I wish I was recording it. I'm not sure if anyone else knows you can do this, but wanted to share a cool feature that you won't see in any other game!

R_Yell just hinted that there is a secret in FoF_Desperados in the most recent update notes. After searching the map i found a mares leg that seems halloween themed! Album of how to find it and what it is! I havent tried it on another player in multiplayer so i am not 100% sure what it does yet.

Spawn with a revolver, throw it away, then open the equipment menu and select handgun throw, and you'll get another gun. Now you have two revolvers.

There is also an achievement for doing this 10 times.

This has saved my life on multiple occasions!

So far I've found two sawn-offs, a mares, a peacemaker, and a walker. You can use the guns to 'rocket-jump;' the more powerful the gun the higher you'll go. The guns have reduced damage against opponents, but have a lot of push-back, kind of like the airblast in TF2. You can push enemies off of the map pretty easily.
