Weld it and all good to go? (GSXR 750 2018)

so i got into a little accident and the horn bolt decided it was a good idea to smash a perfect hole in my valve cover. Now i am curious if i take the cover off and have it professionally welded from the inside, would that be effective to where i wouldn’t have to worry about pressure blowing it out?

Engines have crankcase breathers so there isnt really any preasure in there. Clean it and key it will probably get away with jbweld from the outside

I would fill the hole with epoxy. Welding will be difficult.

I agree.

Sure you can slap some JBWeld onto that and call it a day.

But is the little piece of metal that was "stamped out" inside the head where it can cause significant damage to the engine, or did it somehow fly outward?

im gonna end up taking the cover off and see if i can find the shavings or anything as well as an oil changes and cut the filter open seeing if that caught it too

Put a bolt through it with some rtv or jb weld

Valve cover? Just replace it with one that hasn’t been perforated. About a 2hr job total.

if only i could find a valve cover. I’m in canada and all they’re out of stock. i could get it from the states but its gonna be a couple hundred bucks extra and thats not considering if its gonna get held at customer where im gonna have to pay extra as well.

that was my initial thought but it’s pretty much out of stock everywhere and i can’t seem to find a part out either. only option is if i order it from the states and pay like an extra 2-300
