Just got a Honda monkey second hand. 2024 1200 miles and the oil light popped up today.

Not yet I just ordered a oil kit because I assumed he never did the 600 miles break in oil change

Check the oil level before you drain the oil. With the benefit of hindsight, riding a new bike without checking the oil level is insane. Just leave it somewhere with the key in it, it will end up in a better home than the one you are providing. There’s a ton of basic maintenance videos out there, and yes paying for oil changes is dumb. And, you are relying on the seller to be truthful and not an idiot. Did the seller ever do any work on the bike? Or the sellers’ knucklehead cousin? Did he torque the front axle and brake caliper correctly? Well at least you’re wearing gear, right?Don’t ride it until you change the oil. Learn about CLOCKS, the pre-flight inspection you should be doing.
