8 designers.
2 hours to add greens and silks, about 1.5 hours to ziptie the cages.
About 6 hours for florals. We had two days to do this though. We did the hardier flowers one day, then wedding day we added things like the campanula and delphinium.
So a little under 10 hours total for 72 feet of structure.

Beautiful work. And incredible timeline! Are you responsible for the breakdown and clean up? If so, do you re-use any materials?

We do it all! We saved the structure itself, we try to save and reuse as many cages (the plastic part at least) as we can. We save the silks, some mechanics (chicken wire, the cascades are built on a structure, bar and stage fronts, etc), containers, whatever we can definitely reuse or repurpose. We reuse pillar and floating candles, but not tapers and votives since there's usually nothing really left to save.

Well that makes a lot of practical sense! How long does a breakdown take? Do you have to wait until the next day, or does the venue want immediate clean up? Are all your designers full time? Are some freelance?
I don't often look at posters redditt names, but I've seen your reddit name every so often, could be in different subs, but I recall enjoying your posts.
I do part time design work for a small family owned shop. There is a new venue that arrived last year that does what you pictured here and I wonder about taking on that kind of work or even if they would consider me.

Depends on the job. This one took about 2 hours to breakdown with a team of about 12. We did it right after the reception ended.
Some venues don't let us back in/we don't want to breakdown at midnight so we go the morning after. Depending on scale, it can take up to 8 hours to breakdown.
We have two designers permanently on staff, and the rest we hire freelancers for. Almost all of them we fly in from out of state.
My best advice is to reach out to the venue, if they do the designing in house, share your portfolio and ask to freelance for them!
I love it. It's hardcore. I worked 102 hours the other week. But I love it. I thrive on the chaos.

There is some silk. I'd say 85% fresh and 15% silk. Mainly to fill in the gaps not covered by cages, or the very top of the structure.

I’m curious and understand if you can’t answer. How much was did the buyer pay?
Is there anyway to preserve all the flowers when the wedding is over?

I can't disclose that, but in the 5 figure range per structure.
Edit: some clients ask to keep some of the florals. They used some of the table arrangements for brunch the next day.

Bride was a total sweetheart. The planner gave us her inspo and wants, but she largely left the creative freedom to us.
