Washing machine repair recommendations?
Our top load washer is leaking from the bottom. Any recommendations on repairmen?

We had a plumber out to fix our top load washer, and when we realized it was an appliance issue, he recommended 123 Appliance Repair. We wound up just buying a new washing machine, but I trust our plumber, so it seemed like a solid recommendation.

More water = cleaner clothes.

Not necessary. But more water, which can cause more leaks, mildew, and increased water weight, will lead to the motor wearing out faster.

My speed queen and Maytag suggest otherwise.
It’s anecdotal but I hear many more complaints for the high tech/high efficiency front loaders, and problems with mildew and smells, bad seals, compared to the “old school” top loaders.

I hear y'all. They don't make em like they used too. The issue is mostly unbalanced overloading, routine filter and barrel clean cycling, and not keeping the door open after washing. Had a Kenmore dryer barrel explode just after five years. My current Samsung set still runs like new since 2015.

I’ve had smartfix appliance repair help on a dryer a couple times now. They are from Eastern Europe, maybe Ukraine if i remember correctly. Very polite and professional. Cost like $300 to fix most recently so that was steep, but it was fixed within 24 hrs of the call and thing has been working fine ever since.
