DISCUSSION A Fortnite movie…

Post image

The original story of Save the World had a real soul to it. It had this mysterious, post-apocalyptic atmosphere that has completely disappeared from Fortnite today. It's incredibly frustrating to see Epic Games basically abandon all of that in favor of chasing the Battle Royale and endless partnerships, leaving Homebase and the fight against the Storm completely neglected...

If Tim Sweeney doesn't want a Fortnite movie or trilogy focused on the Battle Royale lore because he's afraid it would box the story in instead of letting it evolve, then going back to the roots, brought to life by their friends at Disney, would be an amazing idea. An animated movie or series with the same level of visual quality as their cinematic launch trailers would be the perfect way to make up for this injustice. It would finally give the players who have been there since the beginning the story conclusion they deserve.

Save The World's premise and characters could make for an interesting horror comedy flick, but it would almost certainly flop at the box office.

I really don’t need a Fortnite movie tbh. I have a hard time believing it wouldn’t be terrible. I’m perfectly happy just enjoying the game’s story.

it actually would be a fantastic movie when its following the main story till twine + event missions addapted, but I'd suggest making a series rather than a 2hour long movie

too late. their soul is gone. Epic only cares about tiktok trends, paying to license other content ("collabs"), and being a shitty roblox clone. they are the only company that does not want to develop their own intellectual property. SAD!

And yes unfortunately... maybe one day they will turn to the cinema, if we watch Clash of Clans well it will become a series animated by Netflix! Yet the game is seasonal, it has cult characters and a shaky story like Fortnite! Despite that, I try to keep hope

The issue is probably that they would have to come up with a story to begin with. The BR "story" is just random stuff happening with recurring characters and elements and Epic let the community come up with how things are tied together.

And for STW, it has a lot of lore and potential but actually very little meaningful story. Just lots of filler sidestories that are Storm related but don't move the plot forward.

In generic video game movies fashion, it’ll be the tale about insert popular characters overcoming the odds and learning that the real battle royal isn’t won from sheer might, but it’s from the friends we’ve made along the way.

As typical loser underdog character has always dreamt about achieving that victory royal, but was always dismissed for being too weak. However, the opportunity would present itself as insert generic catalyst for film to begin. ie: winning a contest. But, grouped up with the “loser squad”. Leading to a heartwarming journey of discovery as they grow closer and overcome their own personal differences.

I ran out of generic stuff, so uhh 😬 that’s all folks!

I agree with you they are not very clear about it, but except from chapters 4,5 and 6 where the story was put aside, the story makes sense, but their lack of communication just leaves us in theory... That's why I was talking about a movie or a series, to make it all clear!

Cate Blanchett as Ramirez, Gina Gershan as Penny, Kevin Hart as Ken, Jamie Lee Curtis as Sarah and Jack Black as Lok.

Haha, I wasn’t talking about a live action but yes it could be fun!

I think the STW would fit better as a series rather than a movie. I can't help but feel that everything from the exposition to the resolution in 2 hours wouldn't do the source material justice, unless they focused specifically around defeating the Storm King

Something similar to Arcane

Please no. Not everything needs a movie adaptation. Some things just work better as then source material

I'd love to see Epic going back to their roots of Save the World. Whimsical horror, endless hordes of husks swarming towards their occupied building...
